    300 years isn't exactly a period.

    Well... my favourite period has to be Antiquity, preferably Roman, mainly because the battles are simply epic, though the scale isn't that of WWII... the scale of Roman warfare wasn't repeated that often during the Medieval period, plus there are some amazing accomplishments that most figures in Antiquity managed to pull off... it's just really exciting, for me... the battles, the people and the warfare all of it.

    I love you. Say it again, in a more romantic way this time.

    My favourite period? Probably ancient, Roman era and around there. I don't know if I can describe it but the battles seemed so much more interesting back then. }

    Least favourite? Napoleonic. Its not that I dislike it I like all history but it lacks the chaos the intimidation and just the charm of mass violence that was present in ancient and medieval times, and isn't as fast paced an exciting as modern.

    Does anyone else find the phrase "My favorite period of warfare is..." creepy as hell? War is the greatest cause of human suffering and I find it off-putting to say which one is my favorite, like I gain some kind of personal glee from it. There are wars that INTEREST me the most.

    People don't constantly die en mass from War. They do from disease and famine.

    I thought about it, and then said to myself; won't all the commies start whinging about imperialism and throwing men at machine guns and WWI is the most mindless slaughter etc
    Trench warfare can be quite cool though - trench gun, trench coat.... :)

    Cool? Probably. Glamorous? Far from.

    If you even want to stay semi-realistic to your source you can't even put half a smile on Trench Warfare.

    Put it this way, trench gun and trench coat is most likely followed by trench foot

    When there is war, there are always people dying en masse

    People in WW2 didn't die en masse from disease and famine, most died from air bombardments the RAF did, Hitler created the V2 to bomb civilians, but most soldiers died in action.
