Post anything that relates to ww2, or anything that wants to have a question about it, I study ww2 soo ya ask me a general question.
A little thing called the Siegfried Line. Also, they rolled through Poland so quickly, it wasn't long before they had the majority of their forces marching through Belgium into France. With their treaty with the Soviet Union, their eastern front was secured.
Chamberlain thought he could contain Hitler, and that by letting him scoop up some of the minor countries (Austria, Czechoslovakia, etc) that would satiate his land desires and he would take a less active role in Europe.
They gave in to every one of his demands and treaty violations until Poland. Otherwise, it would have been a tiny war, a footnote in history.
Approximatively 1,365 T34 Tanks were produced every month from the factories and sometimes drive straight out from the factories gates to fight the Germans. Mass Production and quantities won the war against the Germans in the end for the Soviets.
Hitler lost the war at Stalingrad. He couldn't get access to the vital oil he needed. He had no way to ever conquer Great Britain, and once the US intervened, that was the last straw.
he could definetly conquer great britain. They were on the edge of starving, and were being blocaded. It would have ended with some pro-nazi rebellion eventually. But WWII, at least in the European front, was pretty much a russian-German war. That's where the majority of the fighting was for most of the war.
I doubt it. Germans pretty much lost the war at battle of Moscow, Stalingrad was just conformation of defeat. And even if we ignore previous theory; They take Stalingrad, and now what? Its just another city. They originaly went for oil witch is incredibly stupid, for russians used Burned land tactic. Hitler was kinda guy who didnt let anyone to go back, so russians would just use same tactic as they used in Stalingrad, but in other battle. Grimmest time USSR had in WW2 was year 1941 and end of it in particular. Most of their losses were at that time and if they survived that, they sure as hell can survive with out Stalingrad and oil of the caucasus.
Where I think Hitler want wrong was agreeing to fight with Italy they should have just invaded them and get it over with if you thik about they were the weakest link in it all
If Hitler didn't invade the USSR, the Germans would remain complete in Africa and eventaully invading England. Now lets say Germany didn't declare war on the USA, would that be a big changer, I would say yes, D-Day would have never of happened if the US didnt go to war with Hitler.
If Hitler hadn't lost at Stalingrad he may well have won the war with favorable terms. He could never have conquered Great Britain. Pro Nazi rebellion? Thats bullshit. He could have negotiated a favorable treaty with them, but never invaded. He lacked the means to land enough troops at one time to ever gain victory. He couldn't defeat the RAF, which only had a portion of its forces fighting in the Battle of London I might add, and the Royal Navy was very powerful and would have helped thwart their efforts. His invasion plan involved commandeering every boat they could find and then sending them across the channel, but European river boats wouldn't survive in the English Channel.
Italy was a major weak link for Germany and I believe they may have cost Germany the war when they invaded Greece. Italy couldn't handle Greece and was getting it handed to them when Germany came to save them because they couldn't have their south being attacked as well. This action to invade Greece greatly delayed Hitler's invasion of Russia and led to them being stuck in the winter which we all know ended quite badly
Greece was a distraction for the forces on the Eastern front it just allowed the Red Army to win more easily.
If hitler had won at Stalingrad then the germans would've advanced in till they ran out of supplies to which a russian counter attack would break through. And what? the americans invaded the soviet union????? (never knew that *sarcasm*)
