Supporting piracy isn't really that strange from a capitalist. It's really more of a freedom's issue than a political one.

It's mostly a "not paying for shit" issue. I don't see piracy as something I can justify. I do it anyway, because who gives a fuck? Saves me money.

In simplest terms your right. But since everything turns into a philosophical or political debate these forums I didn't really think many people would appreciate putting it like that.

If they need to be comforted somehow, they can realize that it isn't stealing, because the victim doesn't actually lose anything.

Imagine your car being stolen, but when you wake up its still where you parked it.

People either pirate because they are poor or greedy, like the people that condemn piracy.

That's true. There have been times when I've been too lazy to go out and buy a game.

Just about every non steam game I know of can be easily pirated and enjoyed. With this being the case, I am amazed people still pay for most games.

CD keys can't stop you from using the SP functions.

Most groups don't have problems with that anymore either. And you can even play multiplayer these days pretty easy.

For the same reason I don't pay for the train, because it doesn't cost me money and it's easy to do.

that £3.40 is another pint of beer or my cut of the taxi home. Similarly the price I pay for a video game is an entire night out on the town.

Better question: Why pay if you can have it for free?

I understand that you might want to support small companies and stuff, and I do (Bought Minecraft quite early on, even though it was relatively easy to... Acquire, for free), but I still prefer free games over paying for them. And Im relatively sure other people will agree.

    (Been a while since I posted :) )

Well clearly industries need to make money to invest in making games, no money = no games. Of course the fact that the majority of people realise this and do purchase their media means that people like me who couldn't give two shits can save out money.
