Mao was single-handedly responsible for over 100 million deaths, and indirectly responsible for many more. He dedicated his life to three things: destroying Chinese democracy and culture, installing the largest organs of propaganda in human history, and diddling children. While he was extremely successful at all three pursuits, I don't think you can argue that he doesn't deserve a spot among the worst world leaders in recent history.

FUCK Mao, do you know how many Chinese nationalists he killed? I used to love this guy until I learned the truth, but you Stalin is much worse than Mao because Mao was Chinese and Stalin was Russian. Lenin was actually wanted to help his people unlike Stalin.

    1. The ability to aquire and apply knowledge and skills.
The ability to aquire and apply, mind you.
Not the state of having knowledge and/or skills.
The statements made do not constitute a lack of intelligence, under the definition stated.
What do you mean by that?

    Please explain.
It was the application of the implied statement to a larger scenerio.
    It made perfect sense.
User A made a statement about intelligence.
User B countered by pointing out a grammatical error in User A's statement with the intention of disreputing User A's statement by pointing out said grammatical error and thus alleging that User A held the condition of lacking intelligence due to a percieved lack of knowledge in the English language.
The implication of User B's statement as I saw it was that a lack of understanding in the English language constitutes a lack of intelligence.
I countered that it in fact does not, stating that intelligence is not the same as knowledge. You contest that.
I further pointed out that a great number of people do not know English.
In spite of this, a vast number of them undoubtedly are intelligent to one degree or another.
Therefore, I called it absurd to assume that intelligence lies solely or even mostly in the knowledge of the English language, as was the implication made by User B.
Therefore, I called the implication made by User B ridiculous.
Basically, User B indicated the opinion that anyone lacking an understanding of the English language is stupid for it and thus everyone lacking an understanding of the English language is stupid.
    I contested that.
Neither does a single punctuation mark error indicate a lack of knowledge of the language enough to take great note and certainly not enough to suggest a lack of intelligence, if intelligence was the same as knowledge.
*stated as applied to the posts that began this discussion*

If one misses a punctuation mark in their essay, I would not think that the majority of people would fling it into the trash can and call the writer lacking in intelligence (intelligence under your definition).

Ler you look at the evidence, every country has killed someone, but you can not deny the fact Mao did not kill people, one of my great uncle was one a War Secretary during the of the Chinese Civil War. He saw the Communism troops bomb an entire town because they believe in capitalism.

Well yeah, despite him being a communist he is Chinese so I have to respect him in some way. I am pretty sure Stalin killed more men than Mao.

Imperial, you're grasping at straws. Ler was wrong, and it was an ironic time to be wrong, so I pointed it out. While you do have an atrociously bad writing style and extremely poor mastery of the English language (despite being a native speaker), I never insinuated anything more than that what Ler said was ironic.

Of course, leave it to the ignorant to defend ignorance. There really is no point in arguing here, because when you're objectively wrong about something, everyone has the right to call you out on it. It takes all of zero seconds (since it updates as you write) for your browser to spellcheck your writing, and if say your sentences out loud then it will stop 99% of grammatical and syntactical errors. If you're unsure about the meaning of a word, look it up. Don't just bullshit and use it how you think it's supposed to be used.

You can do all of that, and have respectable, sensical posts. Or, you can continue to post as you do and continue to be called out on your bullshit errors.

Simply put: if you don't want people to call you out for your grammatical or spelling errors, then don't make them.

I voted the last one, because... you know, sarcasm and what not.

But I'd say Mao, not so much because of the death he wrought, but because he liked kids too.

Pretty shitty combination if you ask me.

And of course you are an accredited authority on the English language as well as an expert on my life.

    I didn't state that he wasn't wrong.

In spite of the fact that plenty of people make mistakes in their writing on this forum, you choose to single out specific individuals for their errors.

Nobody on this forum consistently complains about being unable to understand other people's posts except you.
The fact of the matter is, no matter how 'atrocious' my or anyone else's writing is, the ideas get across effectively enough. People have disagreed with me, but they have not commented on my writing beyond the rare occasion. This forum's purpose is not a place to critique each other's writing ability or lack thereof.

No mod on this forum has consistently deleted posts for errors in spelling, synatax, punctuation, or any other facit of literary works, in spite of having the authority to. They haven't even complained consistently or made anything beyond jokes.

The posts are far from incomprehensible, as your constant rebuttles show.

I am an advocate for being able to write well, but I don't require perfection on a forum where it is absolutely unnecessary. I have disagreed with Ler's posts and the posts of others, but I have rarely had difficulty understanding them or even found myself more than mildly agitated by errors in their work. The errors have never in my memory subtracted significantly from my understanding or distracted me from the meaning of the work.

All you are doing is complaining and blowing small errors out of proportion.

I accept that I may have considered there to be more to your post than there actually was, but the fact remains that you consistently complain about trivial errors and matters. You attack people's writing selectively based on their politcal views, not on the consistency of their writing errors.

I don't think Kali, or anyone has claimed to be an expert on your life. Also, don't start a sentence with and.
Yes, and the two worst offenders are you and Vulcan, and he is not a native speaker, whereas you are.
That's because the overwhelming majority of you cannot, or do not, make posts that are grammatically correct with proper syntax and spelling. They shouldn't be criticizing other people until they get their own shit together.
Your grammar is not very good, but that isn't the only problem here. You also regularly use words and phrases that are far beyond your ability to understand, and your posts end up either not making sense at all, or meaning something other than what you likely wanted them to. You cannot reasonably expect everyone to have to infer what your intended meaning is from the horrible trainwrecks of posts you routinely make.
It isn't a place to do that, specifically, but it's not as if doing so is against the rules or unacceptable
Honestly, some of the mods could have their own posts deleted for the same reasons, but putting that aside, the mods don't do that sort of thing because they are worried that it will make people not like them, and they don't consider mantaing a high standard of grammar to be very important. However, Kali apparently does, and there haven't been many, if any at all, instances where his post deleting would not be appropriate. The has rules on grammar, or at least it did when Kali was a mod, and all of his actions were perfectly legal according to those rules.
Oh, and it's "syntax", "facet", which, in addition to being misspelled doesn't make sense in this context, and I don't think these posts count as literary works.
Honestly, it is often difficult to understand what you are attempting to say.
Your errors are much worse than theirs.
    They aren't small.
I don't think this is necessarily true. It is probably more accurate to say that it is based on his personal opinion of those people. Admittedly, their political views certainly contribute to this, but there are other contributing factors as well. However, the reasoning for the attacks doesn't change the fact that he's correct.

Are you saying that you have difficulty understanding my posts?
If you do and you intend to respond, why do you not just ask for me to explain?

    And this:
Is what I mean when I talk about this:
Even assuming that Kali can prove where I am, he misses 2 critical points:
    1) With the spread of modern communication and education, I could have easily learned English as a second language.
    2) Even if I lived in the US (as he claims), plenty of people don't have English as a first language.

    Yet they do.
People have demonstrated on numerous occasions an ability to understand my argument well enough to not accidentally make strawman arguments.

As for my diction: I use words with a reasonable amount of certainty as to their meaning.

However, I can understand your point.
I will in no way attempt to lower my vocabulary, but I will endevor (if so requested) to make my
    points clearer.

I have never accused Kali of having abused his moderating powers beyond that which I have already placed before the other mods and Stalin for judgement.
Though I find Kali's intent to maintain some semblence of a reasonable quality of writing on this forums, I find his scrutinizing of everthing ever written (particularly those written by targeted individuals) ridiculous. My work is not so incomprehensible to the average reader to warrent such scrutiny.
I never intended to claim that his jabs at people's writing were incorrect. As a matter of fact, I don't recall any place in which he was wrong that I did not contest.
I merely mean to point out that he is clearly in no way intending to level out the bumps in the average posts of this forums. He means to use them as attacks on people to discredit their arguments and ideologies.
