I am very bored. I feel like playing something epic, but I don't know what to play. Got some $$ kicking around thanks to early graduation money, so buying a new game is within possibility. Anyone know of a kickass game, preferably a strategy/sim/RPG game, that has come out recently and is available on Steam or through digital download?
Who buys games nowadays... Argghh. Company of Heroes/Expansions Starcraft 2? ... Blitzkrieg Series, RUSE, Men of War, Warhammer 40k Retribution... Blitzkrieg Series. Id say.
Here are some suggestions from me: Men of War series - for more complicated/deep strategy gameplay and epic battles Anno series (1701/1404 A.D. etc) if you're into the more management/empire building kind of games. Hearts of Iron 2 and it's spinoffs if you like the more laid-back kind of play. Also Europa Universalis 3 and Victoria 2 and so on, all the same kind of games basically. Settlers 7 - I haven't actually played it, but I hear it's pretty good. It is (sort of) similar to the anno series And of course Total War, but I assume you have that already As for RPG's, I don't really play those, on PC anyway. I did play Borderlands, an I was surprised I actually liked it. If you haven't played it, you might want to check that out. Not really an RPG, but it does have some RPG elements.
Kingsage its an online game that i find extremly fun. You build up a city and and join alliances so it isnt very fun until you get to a few hundred thousand points.
Dark Messiah has a great plot. Its Roleplay/Action with swords and magic. East India Company is a great strategy game. The tittle says the most. World In Conflict one of my favorite war strategy games.
If, by some quirk of statistics, you do not own a copy of Minecraft, go and buy that. That is a game that rarely get's old, especially in multiplayer.
Because of Stalin’s endorsement, I just downloaded World of Tanks and played a couple rounds. Seems like a pretty good game, especially considering it’s free.
Dawn of War 2: Retribution - you get all campaigns, all races in MP and Last Stand for only 30$. Seems like a deal to me. The Witcher 2 is coming out soon, so you might want to check that. Space Pirates and Zombies looks very entertaining as well. and it's now on discount on Impulse so check that as well. Here is a cool preview: [yt:32mj84ey]CbikOfUFcxI[/yt:32mj84ey] Ever played Stalker Call of Pripyat? Anyway, try that. Company of Heroes + expansions. Rift Hegemony Philip of Macedon - cool indie strategy game.
Have you played Darklands? It's an RPG that came out way back in the nineties, but if you have DOSBox it's well worth a look. One of the best RPGs of all time in my opinion.
How did I forget this? I've been playing it for a while, and I was surprised I actually liked it. The English version is now out of beta by the way. Also, the game isn't really 'free', unless you like grinding.
