Stockholm I just found out, is extremely green (energy wise) So much that by 2020, they hope to not have any dependency on fossil fuels. Carbon emmisions per person in the city are at 1.5 tons, compared to the US's 20 tons per person. What do you think? Do you think the world can learn a lesson from Sweden?

I hate it when the Scandinavian countries do this, they always need to show off on how super awsome their country is and how awsome all the things are back there. I once had a doctor tell me that I had to sit down when I pee because "they do it in the Scandinavian countries".

On a more serious note, governement income is very much dependend on taxes put on harmfull products such as cigaretes or fossil fuels, so they will need to find alternative income for their governement expeditures.

Well the northern countries all have very high HDI scores, extremely low corruption, and is generally liked by the international community if you exclude Russia.

I definatly think that western AND eastern nations should take a lesson from Sweeden. I mean, immagine if China was able to become a leader in grean energy and not depend on foreign nations while exporting the technology to the west if it is cheep. Problem of pollution solved if we can get to Sweeden's level. Now to solve the incomming global food crisis.

as observer pointed out the swedes don't have any oil and generaly suck. they need somthing to feed there economy so they are starting allot on tech allong with the rest of scandinavia. up here lifeis pretty good so we don't really wory about the economy so more people are concerned about the enviorment. Now we Are starting to bild wind mills at sea, wave catchers in fjords, and water magazins every where.
