Well, to be honest, back when Christianity was the main belief in Europe, and you didn't agree with them, you were thrown on several pieces of wood and burned. Heck, the amount of gay bullying or people saying girls are whores because they take the pill are disgustingly high. Actually, theories are hypotheses validated by sufficient evidence. Gravity is a scientific theory, meaning it once was a hypothesis, but has substantial proof to call it fact. I don't get why there are so many glaring contradictions in it, though. Of course, it has been translated a lot of times, but I wouldn't be surprised if it contradicted itself every single page.
Well I don't exactly believe in that. I only said that if you believe in God and be sorry for your sins, you go to heaven. I never said my God specifically, just god in general. I do believe that my God is the same God in both Judaism and Islamism. I don't know how other religions get into heaven, I only know my own. But I believe that if you put faith into your god(s) and are sorry for your sins/ wrongdoings, you will go to heaven regardless of what faith you are.
Well, if I'm correct, in Hinduism, you get reincarnated according to your actions, and in the beliefs in the Roman pantheon, you reincarnate three times, I believe, except when you've been extremely good or bad. I'm not sure about it, though, I should reread the Aeneis for that.
In my faith, if you are never exposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, you go to heaven because you never heard the word of the lord. Same goes for unborn children.
To spread the word of the lord. That's what we are supposed to do as Christians. If we do not tell people about it, my faith wouldn't exist now.
But at the same time, people have different religions and ways of getting to heaven (and Hell). Even if we didn't spread our faith, people in other religions will be "condemned" to Hell in their faith.
Yes, but didn't God specifically state He was the only true God, therefore all other religions are false, and so are their theories about an alleged afterlife.
Every time I go and take some time to read this kind of topics, I always find myself in the postion where I am questioning myself does God or some mighty force exist or not. But my stance didnt change by now. I am agnostic and I guese I always will be. I just cant force myself to belive in one god who created humanes by his very image and who decides what do we deserve. Heaven or hell. I belive that we will all be judged, maybe not by some force we like to call God, but ourselfs or other humans alike.
You guys are not getting it, and it's my fault, I learned this in Spanish Falsacionism (Popper) says that a theory is never "true", is less "false" that another one. Let's say atoms; in school you surely learned that at first scients believed it was a big ball, now it's a group of balls in the center with litlle balls around (epic explanation). About gravity; gravity is the phenomenon, the theory would be "I think there is a force (or whatever, you get the point) that push us down". I hope I explained myself better now.
S So if you know about God and dont believe in him you go to hell. So you are basically saying we are going to hell for not believing that there is a God. That's not the God I want to live under.
I stand with the atheists in part here. I think that if you were a "good" person, but didn't believe in God, at least you should go the the Purgatory.
If you hear the word of the lord and deny it, you go to hell. Simple as that. I don't strictly believe in that, but that's what it basically is.
If you are a good person and God sends you to hell for not believing in him, than God is an asshole and not all good.
How many times do I have to explain this to you. I believe that faith and faith alone gives you access to heaven. Good works mean nothing.
