Considering that the biggest group within this whole thing are Social Liberals/Social Democrats. It's probably safe to assume if anything is achieved from this it'll be according to whatever it is the various Social Liberals/Social Democratic movements are demanding these days.

Yes my friend. Plenty of Libertarians at these protests, second largest group I think.

    You sure about that?

    In other protest related news:
Lawrence O'donnel is pretty pissed off at the police.

There's your mainstream coverage of that whole police brutality thing for those of you interested.

Do you live in the same America as me? Something tells me the majority of your anarchists/leftists are actually just people who saw the Zeitgeist videos.

There are anarchist and socialist signs and symbols all over wallstreet. As well as it was partially organised by anarchists.

The Left seems very split about this. Mother Jones had a very interesting article about the whole thing that runs very counter what you find in Democracy Now! or Adbusters: http://motherjones.com/mojo/2011/09/occupy-wall-street

If you're too lazy to read the article, here's the main points:

    1) A protest about Wall Street banking has become a one-size-fits-all of a litany of complaints. The protesters are demanding a schmorgisborg "Christmas list that includes ending capital punishment, wealth inequality, police intimidation, corporate censorship, joblessness, American imperialism, and war." There is no clear message

    2) Reports of police brutality steal the show and drown whatever message(s) the protesters are demanding.

    3) Anonymous are not helping the protesters' image.

    4) This not not Egypt. When the Mubarak government fell, it was because the working classes, the middle classes, the business owners, rival political elites and the military were all united in their disgust of that dictator. This event is not pulling in that kind of cross-section of American society.

In point, if you want to protest Wall Street and The Man, be more focused in your demands, limit your grievances to something everyone can more or less agree with, and appeal to those that live in Des Moines, Milwaukee or Sacramento...not those that just live on the Lower East Side or Williamsburg.

It is my hope that there is an orderly queue to occupy the LSE. Tables with tea and biscuits will be set up too. I can seriously see that happening.

I have no excuse not to go, apart from whether i'm busy on those days and getting down to London from Birmingham in time. If I do, i'll deffo wear a suit (like I do about 70% of all the time), hopefully this will make the protest look like it has wider support, rather than just get me abuse from hardcore anarchists or such like lol. I dare someone to go, with a banner and everything, but also with a top hat and cigar. Saying that, people probably do that anyway.

No it's not.... You can't even really argue for a localized rebellion at the epicenter of the protests considering it isn't violent and the state isn't taking any measures to stop it. The anti-iraq war protests were about 10-100 times larger, hell even the save darfur benefit was significantly larger and none of it accomplished anything.

I'll call it a rebellion when the people start resorting to mass violence.

But wait a minute....then they would be labelled as terrorists! And terrorists have been completely demonised since 9/11 by the government so nobody sane will want to take the first step. Thus they will not fight and eventually return to their homes, knowing that nothing happened and isn't really worth doing again.

Is this a joke cause I don't see any rebellion going on.
