    Exactly now would there still be that same rivalry now that William the conqueror formerly duke of Normandy was not king but say as in the post you quoted Harold Hardratta would there be the same outcome now that the Scandinavians control the British isles?

    Wait, wasn't Harold a saxon? He's not from Scandinavia, saxons came from northern germany.

    Harold godwinson was the Saxon Harold Hardrada (misspelled it in the quoted post) was the king of Norway at the time plus imagine if the Norwegians managed to retain the English throne until the kalmar union rolled around
