Mostly agree with Mosh on this one. If anything(and I mean anything) goes wrong and/or something breaks down, these people are fucked and they will die, because no help will be coming and they have no way to get back. Terraforming will take centuries to achieve with our current technology, unless they built some sort of dome which is practically impossible without large machinery and production facilities.

Sly, respond to my actual quotes. None of that stuff is actually written with the intent to be detailed. I don't even think they know the details yet :p

Of course they don't know the details yet. The type of spaceship they are using is a prototype at the moment. I can't answer any of those questions because everything I get is from the site. More answers will come over the next couple years.

Well don't get so convinced is going to work. They expect to begin sending stuff in 4 years yet they only have the bare minimum in planning done. And how is their spaceship a prototype? I thought everything was "tried and tested"?

The company has tried everything that they are gonna put in this space ship and its an updated version of the ones they already use. It's just not 100% finished.

So then its not tried and tested. Its ago to criticize them, it doesn't mean you have to wish failure on them :p

I hope they do well and succeed, but I'm very very skeptical.

Its just an improvement on the earlier model which has already been very successful in its previous space mission.

But then its not tried and tested. I'm just pointing that out. They are still developing new technology.

Everything they have exists. The Falcon heavy (which is what it is called) is completed, not tested, which is what they said.

BUT, in their website page they said, and I quote, "Our entire plan revolves around using existing, validated technology". Well, if their spaceship is not yet tested then it is not yet validated.

But the space ship only uses technology and stuff that has already been tested and sent into space.

But it also uses some technology that needs to be developed and has yet to be tested. Don't try to hard to defend them, just admit that they aren't quite as good as you seem to think :p

They are using only already created technology. This is just the first time they are putting it altogether.

I think you might be closer to agreeing with me there...

By what their webpage and stuff says, they haven't thought at all about what happens if things go wrong. There is no escape plan for the 4 people (and more after that) that will be going up there.
