Whoever the Egyptians want. Preferably someone who isn't in or was formerly in the military, as they are usually the ones that will suddenly decide to not have an election ever again.

Muslim brotherhood announced that it is not going to put candidates on elections, though there might be private members of the group or pro muslim brotherhood.

It should also be said that MB & Al Quaida have been dropping verbal bombs on each other and as I understand it MB is trying kinda simmilar to AQ, but wants to acomplish objectives peacefully. (Please dont hammer me on that one)

I'd like to see some one proggressive

    ElBaradei For President!

Former International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei, who had previously announced his intetions to run for the presidency of Egypt, said Monday that “if Israel attacked Gaza we would declare war against the Zionist regime.”
In an interview with the Al-Watan newspaper he said: “In case of any future Israeli attack on Gaza – as the next president of Egypt – I will open the Rafah border crossing and will consider different ways to implement the joint Arab defense agreement.”

He also stated that “Israel controls Palestinian soil” adding that that “there has been no tangible breakthrough in reconciliation process because of the imbalance of power in the region – a situation that creates a kind of one way peace.”

Discussing his agenda for Egypt, ElBaradei said that distribution of income between the different classes in Egypt would be his most important priority if he were to win the upcoming elections.

ELBaradei’s main competition is Arab League Secretary General and former Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa. Last month he discussed Egypt’s relationship with Israel. “During my term in office the foreign ministry was subject to unfavorable policies from Israel with regards to the peace agreement,” Said Moussa who served as foreign minister 1991-2001,” he said.

“We thought the peace process was like a waterwheel – endlessly turning around and around without reaching a defined point. My opinion was that we needed to be honest with the Israelis, taking determined measures within the framework of the foreign ministry’s operations. Maybe this led to a lack of agreement on all Israel related issues.”

I don't think Che realized Baradei by all means is a very refined and westernized individual.

So you guys are advocating the return to the cyclical conventional war era between Israel and the Arab nations that existed before Sadat then? You do realize that is the likely outcome of an Egyptian state that would disnormalize (def not a word) relations with Israel right?

Reduced relations with Israel does not mean war. Egypt's pressure to go into war with Israel was from other Arab states who relied on Egypt's military to have a prayer against the Israelis. As there is no reason why Egypt would declare war on Israel and with their deteriorated relationship with the Arabs, war with Israel and Egypt is not likely. However, the end of subservience to Israel is done and should be done when Mubarak fell.

Really? You don't see the connection between an anti-Israeli government and better relations with Islamist Arab states? It seems rather clear that an Islamist Egypt will develop stronger ties with its Islamist Arab neighbors, which again puts Israel in the same situation it was in before Nasser.

No, it just means pressure will be put on Israel to end apartheid.
