You don't even understand what I'm saying. The simple existence of one person alters so many people's lives in innumerable ways, that you would be insane to assume no good came of his continued existence. What about the psychologists, who studied him, and learned. They may have been able to help others with that experience. Or the young boy distantly knew someone who was killed, and became a police officer because of it? He might save a woman from being raped, and then forced into poverty, if only because he was motivated to become a police officer. If your silly enough to think that you can interpret the many effects every single person has on other's lives, well, you far more naive than I assumed.

I'm not even saying that, Matt, though it is very true. I just think that murder is the most disgusting crime imaginable, and dealing out after contemplation as a punishment is more barbaric than legal murder ever will be.

Is this thread about a man wanting to get out of prison? Because that is unheard of.

You know, I've always found rehabilitation of criminals in imprisonment a rediculous thing, considering this quote.

I say we send him to that leprosy place in Hawaii. Not sure if we still have it, but you know.

    Rehabilitation is not solitary.

Insanity doesn't mean mentally disturbed, it means that the criminal was not in control of himself or was unaware of the consequences of his actions when the crime was committed. Charles Manson is very clearly mentally ill, but by no means was he insane. He acted in full control of his actions and with full knowledge of the consequences, and thus should not have been sentenced to a mental hospital.

Helping people is not the purpose of the criminal justice system. We have a right as a society to say "Fuck you!" to the bastards that violate their social contract, as well as to keep order.

What are you suggesting? Surely not that we murder him!

It's have. Should have, or should've. There is no of.

And no, he shouldn't have. What on earth do you even mean by 'group home?'

If there is one grammatical error that pisses me off it is that. Everybody on this fucking forum seems to think that should of means something. It doesn't.

What's a 74 year old gonna do? Piss on you until you die? I say, let him go but keep an electronic bracelet on him, just in case he tries to kill someone with his cane in the name of Satan.

The best way I could explain it would be dorm prison housing but with no empathsis on punishment, and thus more freedom for the inmates.

Again, the criminal justice system doesn't exist to help criminals. And no one would stand for the kind of nonsense that you're proposing here.

    This is largely why.

People should be punished for their actions for more reasons than the way it affects them. Punishment serves many useful functions and is necessary to maintain order.

EDIT: Also, emphasis, not 'empathsis,' which isn't a word.

Why? All the justice system should do is protect society, and take care of both partys.

There are so many things wrong with your idea that I find it difficult to pick a response.

You should start with the fact that "partys" isn't a word.
