Are biased news channels justifiable? Should we justify the conservative bias of Fox News, because of MSNBC having a progressive bias, or vice-versa?

Here is a question which troubles me, because pollitically, americans are very influenced by biased news. I think this is dangerous, because instead of americans thinking and finding for themselfs what they really believe in, they are being influenced by someone whose work is much more then just give news (which should be their only job). I say this because I believe bias news are ethically incorrect.

    But what is your opinion?

They are only justifiable to the side which it helps, like the goverment or certain companies. But every kind of way of messaging and every news is biased, it sides with the idea which it promotes.

I don't think news channels should make the news itself biased, to me that is injustifiable. They should be able to give the opinion of the news channel, but this should be clearly defined as an opinion and kept away from the actual news reports, which should be factual.

Broadcasting companies have to make money.
Regular news just doesn't cut in America because nobody would watch it.

Yes, they are justifiable. Because, if you watch a little bit of Fox, a little bit of MSNBC, and a little bit of CNN, you will get a pretty clear picture of what the news is and more importantly, what people across the states think about it. I, of course, never take all my information from my source, I always check all 3 major channels.

No I don't believe so. The new should be there just to tell you information on a subject impartially and then leave it up to the viewer to form their opinion on the matter. A news channel shouldn't be telling people about the subject and then going "this is what you should think about this." It just leads to people regurgitating what they hear on the news rather than critically thinking about the subject to form an opinion.

People would watch a show that wasn't Bill O'Rilly screaming. They just wouldn't watch it in as great numbers and thus the corporation would make less money. In fact, news is one of the prime examples of how greed has destroyed the product.

Which brings me to the point that news should be forced to actually tell the truth, for one, and second it should be mostly state run. The idea of a bunch of greedy bastards running an unregulated news source is stupid.

News delivered to the masses should always be completely unbiased. People should hear the truths without anything added or twisted.

I hope I'm not the only person who would say that the bullying of lying news corporations is rather a good thing to do.

I cannot say if it is justifiable, but it is understandable.
