New debate: What would the world be like if Alexander had never died as soon as he did?

Scientist today would've been examining him and wondered how the fuck he isn't dead yet.

Yes, but I went the no-quote route. Although in that case, it probably should've been "wasn't", but I'm not entirely sure.

His empire would have broken apart either way, he wasnt the best administrator, or governor, or politican.

He would've conquered India and the empire would still have fallen apart when he died. Just this time one of the Diadochi (isn't that his generals?) would have wanted India and started his own nation there. Perhaps he would also have gone north into Europe or west into Europe, which would have the same sort of consequences with the Diadochi. Maybe Rome would have never been allowed to get off its feet.

Alexander was capable to consolidate his conquests of the East, but of course where would he had gone next is the question. Well there are those who agree that he would had then moved west, Alexander himself had the thoughts of exploring west of the Mediterranean. But perhaps he would continue moving east, maybe re-continue his early attempts of taking the Arabian Peninsula.

I am just as puzzled as you there, although seeing history I guess one of his remarkable generals of the psuedo-ethnic Macedonian, or perhaps someone of regional descent.

Something I found interesting about the Peloponnesian War was that Athens could have won the war on multiple occasions.

He may not have been the best, but he was good enough to hold his empire together while he was still alive. You can't say the same about his hipotetical heir, since he would've been pretty unpopular amongst the army due to his semi-iranian blood, since not a lot of greeks supported Alexander's idea to assimilate the eastern culture with the hellenic culture.

Well, that's a pretty hard question, since it depends on which republics you're talking about, the hellenic republics or the SPQR?
