I wished the Ottomans had destroyed the Habsurgs.......Probably wouldn't have had a WWI.

The Habsburg empire later became Austrian-Hungary and they fought on the same side as the Ottomans in WW1. But no Habsburgs means no Franz Ferdinand. I guess sooner or later in that scenario... The sultan's heir apparent will get assassinated by some Bosnian nationalist. And the because the Ottomans were allied with the Germans to prevent the Russians from gaining a foothold in Balkans... And Russia is allied with France and Great Britian.

True but I think the Ottomans would have lasted longer. Many of the Balkans wouldn't have gained independence if the Ottomans had conquered Vienna meaning a larger and stronger empire. Weren't the Habsurgs in Germany too?

I'm sure we can all agree they were based mostly in Austria and Austria is basically German except for the most modern times.

Well almost all of the rulers in WWI were related somehow so I wouldn't be suprised if they were.

World war 1 was the largest family feud in history.

Interesting fact, throughout the entire war both Kaiser Wilhelm the 2nd and Czar Nicholas the 2nd sent telegraphs and letters to each other.

Csar Nicholas II and Kaiser Wilhelm II were cousins
Here is one of the telegrams- July 28, 1914
"To try to aviod such a calamity as a European war, I beg you in the name of our old friendship to do what you can to stop your allies from going too far"
Also George V (King of England) was cousins with the Csar and the Kaiser.

    Reasons for the war:
The Tsar stole the Kaiser's candy when he was little.
    The King helped the Tsar.
