I would like here to announce my resignation from the position of Tribune. I know a lot of you put faith in me, in voting and supporting me before and during my current term. I apologize if I have let you down.

I would like to request, if possible, that the 'True' winner of the tribune election, SovietEmpireUSSR take my place. He is a good bloke, and he did after all technically win the last election. I feel this is only fair.

What's the reason for you to resign?

Ler, the position of tribune is a responsibility. People voted and had faith in you. You shouldn't run if you are going to resign. If something came up, surely it wouldn't last your full two months as tribune. I am disappointed that you would give up like this.

I really think you should reconsider, however, if you decide to go through with your resignation, I'll support Soviet as the next runner-up.

We may just have another election. Which brings me to something I was thinking, Ler you probably wont be voted in again if you resign.

I think another election might be too tedious, and I agree: Ler, you probably will never get a shot to be tribune again.

i have a feeling he never wanted to be tribune in the first place and was just peer pressured into it, or something.

Either way, he still has a responsibility to the people who elected him.

Soviet would have won had he not pulled out of the race and let Ler win. So either another election or Soviet being put in place is fine with me.

However this is something that now needs to be accounted for in future elections. So I am taking Ler's co-tribune idea and tweaking it.

I already proposed this in the mods corner, have a vice tribune that runs with them in the elections and if something happens to where the original tribune can not maintain the position, then the vice tribune takes over. The vice tribune would have no power unless that was to occur, in which case (s)he would become a full tribune for the rest of the term.

But what if a Tribune gets assassinated?

Would the vice Tribune be able to run for tribune as well? Or do the run only as a vice Tribune?

I was thinking they would run as a team. So I would say only as a full or backup tribune. Could be someone to discuss ideas with and help the full tribune come up with them, monitor the PA as well. But I wasn't thinking they would have any tribune powers.

Friends can't take your place if something like this happens. It would avoid this hassle of this.

The idea of a Vice-Tribune running with the Tribunes would have faults. For instance, what if you really like the Tribune, but the Vice-Tribune is horrible? You might not want to risk it.

I think the Vice-Tribunes should either simply be the 3rd and 4th placers of the elections or done as a separate election.
