Prog, my favorite Genre of music. I mainly listen to Classic-Prog bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull and King Crimson.

    Anybody other Prog fans?

    Me too!

You just listed some of the greatest bands ever produced. With some of the best musicians ever to play and some moments whcih will literally blow your head into iddy biddy pieces.
But because they're a bit weird, they're kinda unknown :| unless they morphed into an 80's pop band... I'm looking at you Yes :?
Another great prog band you shouldnt forget is Gentle Giant. Any more prog bands you think I should check out? My range seems a bit limited and could do with finding some more.

I guess you could say I'm a prog rock fan, as my dad has got me into the classics such as Rush, Marillion, Pink Floyd, Genesis, King Crimson and so on. I also love the newer prog bands such as Anathema, Gazpacho, The Mars volta and others. Nice to see there are people on here with a good music taste!

    Good stuff so far.

Lately, I've been spending a lot of time with Deep Purple. I grew up in a household that listened exclusively to what is now known as classic rock. I was exposed to much of what could be termed Prog Rock and I really like it. By far it is my favorite of the musical genres but I also listen to a wide variety of others. But I always end up coming back...

Ever since I heard "One For The Vine" by Genesis five or six years ago (I was ten) I've been a huge fan of them. Since then I've gotten all of their albums except some of the live ones. They're my all time avorite band, accompanied by Guns N Roses =]

I am a huge, huge, huge fan of Genesis. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is still my favorite album of all time.

Also, my second favorite Prog band (and second favorite band in general) would be Yes. Hearing Closer to the Edge is like looking into the face of god.

I'm also a fan of King Crimson, Rush, Pink Floyd, ELP, Gentle Giant, and many others I can't remember at this moment.

Yeh The Lamb and Foxtrot are my two favorite albums of Genesis. I never understood why The Lamb was so unappreciated.
