It's always struck me as stupid that we didn't have this as an official rule, and back when I was a mod I can recall raising the issue (along with a few others) several times, but the only response we ever got was "I always do it anyways". Well, the new rules (which are just the old rules with Shaw's proposal reworded but still in place) have made explicit that mods don't have to give justification for their actions unless it involves a warning. This is just mind-numbingly stupid and serves no purpose other than to allow mods to abuse their powers.

And just an FYI for everyone who rallied against the sheer, unabashed garbage that was Shaw's prior proposal, you'd do well to note that the new rules are literally exactly the same, only advertised differently. Mods now officially have the power to delete threads and posts for no reason other than what their own whim dictates. This new change is actually worse, because they don't even need the bogus justification of "stopping shitstorms" to do it.

So obviously I'm making a suggestion to Stalin to scrap that clause altogether, or at the least to require that moderators post the justification for their action. There is absolutely nothing to be lost from it, and a whole hell of a lot to gain.

In all fairness, this one is more than reasonable.

I did request that The Shaw's reforms be removed from the rule reform. The original version had them included, and the next version did not. Deathtrap must have just accidentally posted the older version. I'll ensure the correct version is posted to prevent anymore people unnecessarily flipping their shit.
