    That is not you're concern...
I've noticed that many of the classic "Build up you bases and kick ass" RTS games are starting to die off, anyway we can stop that (meaning that you know, what game ideas could work...)

    Sarcasm?

of course, the length of production time really hurt them, like, really REALLY, mortally hurt them, but I still like them, they are sort of merging into the same type of judgement that CoD is getting, for the "team deathmatch" type gameplay, however, if RTS games shook it up a bit, like in C&C3: Kanes Wrath, where they have Siege Mode, a game mode where you get a set ammount of land, a single production MCV, and a set ammount of time to build a shit load of units and structures, before you're allowed to exit your land, and you would have to move your units strategically, fearing that the enemy army might either clash with scattered troops, or find a route to your base. But not exactly that, since KW was sort of always a siege mode type thing.

Other than that I like the general idea of base building, and have gotten bored of infantry based FPS, however, Battlefield is really expansive and intense.

That's a mechanic to stop shitty players from dying in the first 5 min. It sounds awful. There's no risk involved, and you wouldn't even be able to scout your opponent, in an RTS, where information is the most important resource in the game. Instead, players would turtle in their base and then one would end up blind countering the other. The game would be generic and bland, because without the ability to scout effectively or apply pressure early game, the players would have to have the same opportunities and counters couldn't exist or the game would be luck based. That means no races and all games would be basically the same. The restrictions would ruin any chance of a real competition, and therefore the players wouldn't develop any skill, so the game wouldn't evolve.
So, now that we've covered how terrible that idea is, I invite you to come over to the RTS master race and play Starcraft.

I was hoping for a remake of Rise Of Nations or another Empire Earth but I don't think it will be made.

I agree. Although I heard the most recent one wasn't so great.
Personally, i'd say base-building is a due a comeback. Relic put a bit more building into Retribution than the rest of DoWII (if only 'cos Guard was the new race), and with any luck their next Company of Heroes will not be too far off.

tbh I'm sick of RTS that feature base-buiding. It's often turtle in, defend as long as you can, spam more an more units, attack with blob.(in my experience anyway).

DoW2 and WiC made RTS fun imo.

    CoH is golden middle though.

Oh right, let's call everyone who doesn't like base-building feature in RTS games a noob. Get out of your high horse man. You wouldn't survive a minute in DoW2.

It's not because you don't like it, you just outlined the most retarded strategy ever then said it happens every time LMAO

I don't even know where you're going with this statement. Really that's just what often happens. Not every time obviously. But calling someone a noob because of what I see more often then you see is just plain stupid and immature.

Also, yeah, it's retarded, but it's also rewarded.

No talk to any competitive player in RTS particularly starcraft and other macro based strategy games and you'll soon realize turtling is almost NEVER a good idea. If your fighting 10 year old AI then yeah you might win.

Oh c'mon. The competitive side of games is completely different from casual and you know it. Sure, I know turtling isn't the best idea, but looking at how some maps are made in SC2, makes me think it is the best thing to do in the first 5 minutes. Usually there is no fighting involved at all, just using a builder unit to scout.
