I want to upload lossless images, damn it. This blurry, pixelated nonsense ain't cutting it. And it's not like the restriction actually does things now, since I can upload any filesize I want if it's in a post. Down with this archaic oversight! That's technical issue you want to talk to @Unillogical about, but you can always shrink the size of picture.
Well I know how to change it. There's an option in the ACP, I think under board settings or avatar settings that allows you to restrict filesizes. If you put 0 in the blank, it should unlimit the filesize. If that doesn't work, just set it to like 10 MB or something ridiculous like that. Shrinking the picture reduces image quality or cuts off large portions of the image. That's the whole reason I want the restriction gone.
However, these are always fewer & further between & as such do not impact as much on sitewide bandwidth as avatars which are everywhere. There little 100px images, they don't need to be high res.
