Yes, Glory to Danzig. Glory to Germania, Glory to Poznan, Munich, Venice, Sparta, Stockholm, Morocco, England and all the rest. But above all else, glory to the people. Glory to the peasants who toil for the fat Nobles in Castles, Glory to the artisans who paint portraits of the wealthy inorder to scramble together a living to pay for his family. The existance of Danzig proved that the old ways of a false Son of God ruling over the poor but many is not only false, but pathetic. The idea of one man deciding who gets to eat and who gets to starve is madness. So long live the poor, long live the enslaved men and woman who work tirelessy to ensure their master can eat away at expensive cake, and drink high-end wine. While Danzig was flawed, it was arguable the greatest country out there. Not because of its merits or its abilities, but because it TRIED. Danzig held together through a civil war, where brothers fought against brothers, fathers killing sons, friends murdering each other because they all believed in something. freedom. Freedom from fear, Freedom from corruption, Freedom from enslavement. These people who fought and died at each others throats all shared a common idea, but had different plan of executing it. Danzig is dead, but freedom isn't. Long live the suffering peasants, and here it is to them being freed! Three cheers for Germany, Three cheers for Peace! Three cheers for the common man, be they German, Poles, Jews, Irish, English, Italian, Russian, Greek, Turkish, Carthaginian, African, or French!
The last diplomats from the now dissolved realm of Danzig wish to invite Poznan and Munich into talks on how to deal with Danzigian territory. @Viking Socrates @Volland
Hold on, let me see if I can edit and show you my proposition for the splitting of former Danzig up, then we will see if you are all happy with it.
The Empire has minor problems keeping the order in Ankara. Small bouts of petitions and random acts of violence against there rightful occupiers have made some people nervous. Small groups of Ankaran nationalists have been massacred in the north. They put up a small fight after resisting arrest, but were struck down by masses of arrows from the local sherrif and his levies.
Some small groups of refugees from some northern villages have tried to cross the border into Istanbul. Many have been cut down by the sherrifs in the region, but most make it through, or die on the way there. The groups of Ankaran nationalists are slowly gathering, though too many are being killed for them to really form any sort of force.
There the territories of former Danzig have been split by me @Viking Socrates and @General Mosh as requested by scottap. As for generalmosh's portion he recieves the two small territories in his nations colour as he requested. The black is the new Puppet state of Danzig, to honour former danzig as requested by scottap, probably to be run as a NPC. If you three are happy with the arrangements then this is how the land will be split.
Franks Population:90 000 standing army:5000; 3000 horseman 2000 spearman who immediate the phalanx doctrine Levy: 45 000; 5000 spearman, 40 000 angry peasants with clubs and shit. begining to train 5000 peasant skirmishes equipment with javelins Navy: 15 galleys. Starting the construction of 5 more galleys and 5 ballista galleys with the help of @Romulus211 advisors @darthdj31 My expansion of the day shall be inland, mkay? @generalmosh sure @slydessertfox sure sure @Romulus211 I still don't get how my standing army grows, what rate etc etc
The old Danzig leadership supports this splitting of the land. Long Live the Free City of Danzig, who will support trade and peace in North Europe.
@thelistener, you only have a total population of 90,000 right now. That means your army can only be 45,000 at max, and that's if you've recruited every man from like 16 - 60
@thelistener You realize that our technology has tactics where our infantry is roman-esque, right? Phalanx is sort of forgotten. You JUST getting phalanx shows just how behind you are XD
So... I could recruit 5000 soldiers from my 45 000 levy, leaving 40 000 levy's left, right? theoretically
@Skyicewolf Phalanx is superb tactic for a small infantry unit, especially when their job is to tie enemy soldiers not to kill them
Yes. Each of your provinces adds 10,000 to your population. Which means if you colonize 5 provinces tomorrow then you will get 50,000 more population, meaning 25,000 more possible levies.
