Solved Microphone Background Noise?

    My microphone is very sensitive to noise on the background. If my parents talk while in the room, everyone is able to hear every single word. Now, this is not a major problem, but it can be annoying for my friends if they have a convo with me on Skype. I was wondering, is there a quick solution to this problem?

    EDIT: Weird. I have just fixed it myself with four sheets of toilet paper and a bit of tape. Good for me!

    That's exactly why many microphones have a foam cover surrounding the tip - it blocks out residual noise while letting in direct sound.
