What tastes better? In my opinion diet coke tastes better and I have the feeling I'm in the minority here. I just want to know how outnumbered I am.

Anything "light" or "diet" is generally tasteless crap.

i dont understand why people drink diet soda.
it tastes like poop in a bottle, and there are more health risks.
a preliminary abstract presented by the university of miami's Hannah Gardener linked daily consumption of diet soda to a 61% higher incidence of "vascular events" such as strokes and heart attacks.

Diet coke is far worse for you then normal coke, but I rather have a Dr.Pepper or some water.

OH, I don't know. People with diabetes? To me it tastes better and doesn't have an calories in it so if I'm in a place where water is unheard of (like mcdonalds) I'll usually have diet coke or something. I am a big fan of water .

Also what is this nonsense about diet coke being worse for you then normal? Seriously cola is so much fucking sugar you people have no concept of what's good for you .

Normal coke all the way for me. It may contain large amounts of sugar, but that seems more natrual and healthy to me than whatever artificial nonsence diet coke contains.

Drinking diet soda can also lead to bone loss. This is because the phosphoric acid in the soda causes calcium in your bloodstream to be excreted more quickly than normal through urine. Your bones then give up some of their calcium in order to keep the bloodstream calcium level constant.

A 2009 Nurses Health Study of 3,256 women found a 30% drop in level of kidney function for participants who drank 2 or more servings of diet pop daily. This means that those who drank at least 2 cans, bottles or glasses of diet drinks daily had 30% less kidney blood filtering ability than those who drank regular sodas or other drinks. The kidney function decline was noted even when consideration was made of other factors which may have affected participants, such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
Why does diet soda harm the kidneys? Evidence is still coming in, but it's thought that the sweeteners used in diet soda may scar kidney tissue over time

My Mom had diabetes, so all I can drink is diet soda when I do drink soda (I pretty much only drink water nowadays). Diet Coke is an acquired taste, and now the regular stuff just seems too sweet for me. And don't even get me started on Pepsi, that stuff is beyond too sweet for me to handle. Unfortunately my University only serves Pepsi products in the cafeteria, so I usually just get Diet Dr. Pepper.

Oh, and that "research" that was mentioned about Diet soda linked to vascular events ONLY shows a positive correlation, not causation, meaning that it is just as likely that more people with diseases that can lead to vascular events happen to drink diet soda rather than the soda itself causing the vascular events, there is no way to prove the causation without a scientific experiment.

Even if that's true I'm still pretty comfortable in having one now and again as I don't drink carbonated assjuices of any flavour in any frequency. Both products in this debate are in no way good for you and should never be consumed more then once a day. In fact they shouldn't be consumed more then twice a week . There is in fact no reason for you to consume them at all but what do I know anyway.

People who defend normal pop are trying to protect their fat ass habits.
