Sweet. I won't have time to read it tomorrow, but I'll read it later, then. I also forgot to add that the game I had in mind would need a highly realistic physics engine, so that you really need to watch your step all the time.
Basicly, my ideas branch around 3 arms if combat and the ranks that contain them, air, land, and naval. The plan is simple the player is a private who wants to raise up in the ranks, between fictional countries, but with irl weapons, like the ace combat series, the player can start in 3 of the branches, rookie pilot, cannon fodder grunt, or gunner, I plan on making the campaign dynamic. as the player ranks up they get better missions, responsibilities, soldiers, and weapons, As a meaningless private, you are thrown into battle with your service rifle. Until you meet certain requirements you are promoted to corporal same as private you have to follow your leader, but you can choose a.secondary weapon, then you become a sergeant, and you have soldiers under your orders but you have to still follow the chain in command, this is the same for all arms of combat, I have an interesting idea.for naval warfare in which if you don't fire on commanders orders you lose xp, then when you become captain, major, etc you have actual squads under you and your the most important on the field, you have to give orders but it stills stay fps, until you press the map button, where you give orders, until you become general where you have to make all decisions via UAV, or headcam and naval fleet commanders give orders grim there flagships. Now multiplayer will be interesting, I have 2 modes in mind, land vs land and naval vs naval. Both with there respective air forces, and the main thing to keep players in line is they lose xp when not with their leader or not following orders, there ain't be any geneeals in multiplayer, but there will be random points to hold in land mode, and team deathmatch style in naval mode, its a pretty extensive game but its one that I plan on making when I have the resources.
In other words: People don't have powerful enough rigs to run them and they are not available to large consumer base as they are really expensive.
A better CoD (multiplayer, the singleplayer should be dropped IMO). Would: Be fun whether alone or in a party Be more skill based and have less bullshit to help noobs Have less bullshit, period. Be fast paced Have good maps Weapons, attachments, perks, killstreaks etc. have to be fun, unique and balanced Be developed on the PC first with a proper dev time Have proper dedicated server suppourt Be suppourted well post-release Or a better Mass Effect 3. It was still a really fantastic game, but it could have been a lot better. More and better fleshed out characters. More squadmates. More crew dialogue. A better story. Better music. A better ending. Wasn't as bad as some people make out, but it could have been better. More places to explore. I want to be able to land on planets and explore them, and not only on missions. Bring back the Mako and the planet system from ME1, but make them better and more unique. Bring back the properly fleshed out locations from ME2 like Illium and Omega, but make more of them and make them bigger and more detailed. Side quests need to be better designed and more important. Have better graphics. I'm sorry, but ME3 was a direct console port. It could look sooo much better if it was developed on the PC. Pretty much everything graphics related could be a lot better, but the models, textures and shadows are particularly horrible. It's sad that the stuff I'm saying here has absolutely 0% chance of ever becoming reality, I can only dream.
Also, although it doesn't hurt that this thread is here, it would be more appropriate in the "Games" section.
I think I would resurrect my childhood dream of making a bus simulator that isn't absolutely shit. Although to be fair, i've never actually played one.
The players rank is chosen randomly, generals would be useless when people rarely follow there leaders anyways.
I would like to present to you an addition to this idea; To look strikingly better than the previous.
I would make a third-person-shooter, about either an American or Soviet soldier in West or East Germany in a fortified area attempting hold back Soviet or American forces. Experiencing the brunt of a WWIII situation, with a competant A.I. "commander" which actively gives objectives and orders moderately accurate artillery or aircraft strikes. It would be a real-time (with a save mechanic as well) situation in which the player has to actively stay on guard against an equally competant enemy A.I. "commander" which is attempting to conquer the forification in order to advance the army of his nation. The player will win or lose the game not by his actions alone, but by mointering a map of the disputed Germany inwhich either the Soviets or the Americans get pushed back or blow through the others defenses. The game will be centered around that one fort. The Player will be given a series of choices (similar to how BioShock 2 started) that will determine his character's attributes. Over time your character will become more experienced by simily doing what is required (shooting, reloading, sprinting, ect.) but will still be subjected to the fact that death is right around the corner. If the player's character gets "killed" he will respond but only at his last save or autosave or can be revived by a medic A.I. or human player. The game will last a total of 30 "days" if the A.I. decides to take that long (would also add a speed up time type of thing to skip the mundane crap if he so chooses to) in winning or losing the war in Germany. This a purely bare balls summary of a game I would either like to make or see come into existance, I don't want to add further to a wall of text about the other undiscussed areas of my idea or other ideas. So I will end this post here.
A fallout game: - -with a less retared AI -better graphics (land doesn't look 100% one texture) -More guns -radio w/ music YOU can add (for example Wiz Kalifa for some reason) -Removing the equipment degrading, they may start off with 0%+ condition, but they never degrade and better the condition, the better the DPS+DMG -More enemies -Longer quest-lines -redone wealth/barter system -Power armor ACTUALLY protects you(Higher DT/DR), no need for 12 armor fix mods... -Can actually help the Enclave, and lead soldiers as you rank in faction quests. -Redone faction system, such as ranking and leading that factions warriors -Multiple companions, and they aren't crap -Realistic city sizes -More to explore -Deathclaws and other high lvl enemies dont suck after level 20... -And fun DLC's such as Operation Ming, were you play the role of a U.S. armored cavalry(Power armor) soldier in China during the great war, and Hate from the past, were you assume the role of Enclave soldier at Navarro when its attacked by NCR.
post-WW1 russia is invading japan 4 years after the sengoku period after the country is sent back in time by a crazed german doomsday device. after meeting stalin, who was also sent back by his murderous doctors, they start to secure a better economic position for the future i shall call it.... STALIN VERSUS THE SAMURAI!!!!
Mine would be a huge open world RPG set in different times in history as the series would progress with a main character that you can't change in apperance, but you can change his personality. Essentially, it would follow a criminal family originatin in Southern Italy evern century from the 18th century and then perhaps migrating to Europe in the 20th (which would be the final one). The map would huge, bigger than SA and RDR put together. It would be an organic world, as in you kill somone in one street then the police corden the street off for say a week. Or you set a building on fire and for a month it would be under repairs etc etc. The population of the map would be interwined and the politics/economy of the world would be linked with this aswell, say you kill a powerful person and leave a witness. Then the witness "spills the beans" then you would get people coming after you. Or if you yourself were to be at the top of the food chain then you could order a subordinate to do the killing in order to gain power/money or something. Ofcourse there would have to be a police case built against you, probably culminating in your arrest. Arrest or death would be the only possible way to end the game, which means that culture/ashion would have to develop slowly but surely over time and a full aging system would be essential.
I'd make a death camp simulator. You'd control a death camp were you would need to purchase gas chambers, housing blocks and crematories [?] in your effort to exterminate all the jews, gypsies and cripples that are delivered to you. Sounds like fun.
