There more recent songs arent that good. I find their 90's and early 2000's songs to be good but past that, I dont really listen to em.
Their songs were never that good. It's just the nostalgia that makes them decent. They used to always be on the music channels when I was a kid. Plus I played a lot of THPS. I was raised on this type of music. The early 90's were pretty good in terms of music.
Dookie was a solid album, and a few tracks from there next few albums were good (brain stew, time of your life) but then they kind of fell off the wagon. I enjoyed the American idiot album when I was 16 but it doesn't really hold up like their old stuff.
They suck dude, oh wait your 15 that excuses you now carry on while us old timers listen to real punk. THPS is the greatest series of games ever.
I like a lot of their songs, but I'm not a fan of them. Fun fact: their name is a reference to a day spent doing nothing but smoking pot. So me and my friends use the term "green day" a lot.
I like the band, but I won't ever call myself a fan.Their newer songs are kinda just meh. Another fun fact:The lead singer was called "2 Dollar Billy" in school becouse he sold weed for that sum.
The Adolescents were pretty good. I listened to a lot of punk. The best being NOFX. 45 or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough To Go On Our Other Records is the best album ever. Ribbed is up there too. Other highlights would be Milo Goes to College and Boogadaboogadaboogada, as well as Big Lizard in my Backyard.
My brother is all about punk music he told about the descendants, adolescents, bad religion, agent Orange, black flag, and a bunch of others I cant remember at the moment.
You're lucky. My brother only listens (or used to listen to) British punk bands which are terrible, with the exception of the Joy Division EP An Ideal For Living and a few Sex Pistols songs. Coming to think of it, some of the Sex Pistols songs are deeply pressed into my mind. Specifically the song "Bodies" about a throbbing, squirming and gurgling fetus. I sang that at Primary School.
Green Day were always overrated. They were never that good, but everyone thought that they were the greatest thing ever because that's what everyone else was saying at the time. They're quite mediocre - nothing is special about their lyrics, vocals, instrumental performances and rhythm.
