Why Did Japan Use Suicide Tactics.

    No they didn't use kamikaze strikes in pearl harbor......
    First time they used kamikaze strikes was in the battle of Leyte Gulf

    They kind of used Kamikazi attacks if the pilot was wounded or the plane couldn't make it back home, but later they did stablish pilots for the only purpose of doing a kamikazi attack. Plus I agree that the Japanese were the most difficult to defeat in the war because of their unbreakable morale in battle, however they didn't really fought well in ground battles, their strength was in the sea and air.

    They didn't use Kamikaze attacks at Pearl Harbor but I do remember this story about one pilot that crashed this plane on purpose rather than be captured because his planes gas tank was hit and he couldn't make it back to the ship.

    I guess im partially right. I heard that story as well. Even though they where not such efficent fighters on land, their die hard attitude and skill in the air made up for that. They where very good at dog fights and their navy was spectacular.

    Yes they didn't use kamikaze strikes on purpose in pearl harbor it was just one mans idea to crash in to a ship. You are going die anyway why not like this :D

    Its like saying that Germans used kamikaze strikes on London just because one German did..

    But yes I agree on the rest

    It was a psychological weapon and still is.
