I want to be a PC gamer but I cannot afford constant upgrades and I cant afford the Parts to build my own PC, So I own the cheaper form of entertainment the Xbox.
Well this does serve a purpose for people who are debating to get one or the another... @romulus PC needs one big investment, but once you made it that's it. Some times you may need to upgrade a part or two, but you don't need to buy a new PC. (Unlike consoles) Cost effective in a long run...
Thats the thing I can't afford a big investment, I say I would be able to buy or upgrade a PC (With my families income plus my own) once every 5 years. So for me Consoles are cost effective.
That's not true at all. For a gaming PC to last 5 years without having to be upgraded or replaced is a miracle. Consoles never need to be upgraded. My Xbox has lived through the lives of three of my PCs, all of which were 'cutting edge' when I bought them. As well, it's a huge initial investment followed by a series of huge investments to maintain performance. For the price of one good GPU you can get a PS3 or Xbox 360.
No, not 3 PCs in 5 years. I said you're lucky if your PC lasts 5 years. I have gone through a gaming desktop, gaming laptop, and am on a new desktop in the timespan that I've had my 360, which is coming up on 7 years.
Although, this thread is starting out on the wrong foot for console vs PC. I say the description needs to changed, I mean "Discussion of games for the Personal Computer" it should be " Discussion of games for Pc,360 and the PS3. And just to troll everyone, I could post my review of my Axis and Allies Board game.. I can see it now the Board game forum.. But yeah, Description needs to be changed.
I think consoles are better than the PC in the social sphere becouse if you wanna play with a friend on the PC it's the one playing other watching him thing and it is just boring for the watcher.With a console it's fun in every way playing splitscreen in an FPS on an Xbox or playing WII sports with a friend which is just pure fun. Console's cost could be kept in check if you plan really good.Like let's say you like gaming and waching movies then you can buy a PS3 that will have a long support in games like from 2006 to 2016(Well that's what Sony is telling ).In movies it's a DVD and BluRay player that has excellent quality and easy controls. Online is FREE and easy to use. I know the PC has steam and you don't need to use cd's anymore but then you need to have a really good internet connection and a shitload of space on your hard drive to have a good amount of your favourite games installed.And downloading steam games costs a lot of time if you don't have a good connection and in that time your electric bill went up by a few dollars so from that lost money you could have paid for a cheaper game in a store...kinda
Uhh, I don't think they need to, consoles already have ethernet, which serves limited purposes as compared to PC's and PC's already can run games, in fact, they can run any program in the known universe, provided that the users' PC is capable. Bottom line, Consoles are meant to run top of the notch games, online, while restricting mods and hacks that tamper with Microsoft/Sony and their players so that the games they play may be played properly. PC's have more diversity in, well, everything, there is no need for an example.
I don't see why everybody has to bash PS3, XBox, Wii, and PC, I mean Im not saying we should all hold hands and dance and sing but everybody will like and dislike different systems. Im a PS3 player, and as much as i hate XBox I would always admit the things I like about it and not just shit all over XBox palyers because of how much I dislike that system. Im just saying that it always annoys me when people hate on different systems for no real reason. I know this sounds corny but it's my thoughts. Facepalm. OH TANK YOU NAO I CAN HAZ STARCRAFT 2! It's not the matter of graphic settings slowing us down, it's that our PC has insufficient RAM to run it.
The best game I can play is medieval 2 Total war on Lowest settings.... I own a Laptop and I cant upgrade a Laptop without voiding its warranty.
