It has its up and down moments, like first you get really into it in the start and then you accidently die and lose all your stuff and then rage quit for say.. a few weeks, then you come back and mine more cobble and such again.

Unless you have a problem coming up with goals for yourself, you should buy this game. If you do have problems coming up with goals for yourself, you should buy this game, then get an adventure map off of the Minecraft forums.
I don't like it. I played it for more or less 15 hours and just became incredibly bored with it. The reason would be that I don't see a point in playing the game at all. You arrive at a random landmass, build a home, get resources, explore, and kill or get killed by monsters essentially. Getting resources is pointless since there isn't any need to do so, only a desire. Its the type of game where the fun depends on your imagination. If you don't like games that have no set objective, nor a need to do anything besides build, then don't buy it. Every so often I try to get into it, but I can't.
I played it like an hour ago and still don't find it enjoyable. Lately, I can't get past the first 10 minutes of game play without losing interest. I really don't understand why people enjoy this game so much -.- I really do try and get into it. edit- I think i might actually be developing a short attention span -.-
Try out Deep Space Turtle Chase. It's the easiest map I've ever installed, and probably the best. If you think this after 15 minutes of playing it, something is wrong with you. Oh, and that part with the explosion (you'll know it when it happens) is supposed to happen.
I like the game, I wouldn't say it was a generation-changer in design or gaming; yet extremely addicting. I am getting board of it, yet creative mode is keeping me on. I do wish we could get an active server online.
Hey, if you want, you should try out an interesting world seed I found: Abandoned It's oddly fitting.
