It's not a deterrent because not enough people get executed if every prisoner was executed minutes after getting on death row than we would have a deterrent but Rick Parry (with an A for America) exited the most inmates with what I think is 200 in his 12 years of governing or about 18 people a year. If I ruled that anyone is possession of a firearm would be killed on the spot you would see a drastic reduction in the amount of firearms people owned (assuming there wouldn't be a violent revolt).

Keep in a cell, all by himself, no contact with anyone else, disgusting food, unclean water; and keep him like that until that scumbag dies, and don't give him a funeral, he doesn't deserve one.

Sly, The Death Penalty is wrong. Everyone should have the right to live as long as they can. He needs to be helped. Revenge is just as bad as murder itself. He has the right to reconcile with God and even have a chance to get into Heaven. I am not going to turn this into a religion discussion though. Answer this question: If a guy brutally murders your family, and other family's, not out of rage bur pre-meditated, then does that guy deserve to live? I would be genuinely terrified if Charles Manson got out of prison. The reason is he did not kill people directly, he ordered others to kill for him. And at 74, he can still order people around. What does a 74 year old psycopath like him got to lose? He knows he would die soon anyways, so he would not care at all if he ordered people to be brutally murdered and was sentenced to the death penalty, because he knew he would die anyway. And about giving him a chance to get into heaven that is complete utter bullcrap. If you believe that a person can not get into fucking heaven because he/her is gay, then there is no reason a serial killing psycopath should be allowed into heaven.

I support the death penalty but only on serial killers and multi-murderers. I don't think its humane to inject them with chemicals or a "shot" to kill them, although it is the cleanest. The murderers are put on trial in court multiple time and probably live 10-20 years before sentenced. And hopefully they find God and truly repent for their sins and ask his forgiveness.

If he was let out, would he be safer? I mean, taking this thread as evidence, there's probably plenty of people who want to see this guy dead. He's a mass murderer, that's to be expected and he's thick if he doesn't know this.

So, let's consider that he may not actually want to be released, and knows that he won't be, but wants to be in the news again for some reason or another. Maybe, he's just tired of being ignored, and wants one last hurrah in the news before he kicks the bucket, and let's face it he's liable to do that at this age.

On a related note, let's bring back the stocks. Wheel them out at football games and public events and read off what they did, their names and stuff, then back into jail to do your time, a little embarrassment and showing them the public reaction would help them understand the gravity of what they did.
With the exception, of course of youth criminals.
