I agree with you that Russia did a lot but really, the British did the most.

Soviets did most of the fighting, that much isn't really debated by anyone...

Both the Soviets and the Germans did the majority of the fighting in WW2... anyone who denies this fact clearly doesn't know anything about the war.

For me it was the Soviets, the n the Germans and then the Polish.

The Polish were the first to fight and also fougth to the end, reaching Berlin along with the Soviets. It´s pity many people forget about them.

Polish people are very brave they were one of the countries who suffered the most in World War II.

It was the Soviets who fought most of the German forces (I believe about 80% of the Wehrmacht was fighting on the Eastfront, could be wrong though). The Americans played a big role too though, with the lend-lease agreements, D-Day, and preventing all of Europe from falling under Communist tyranny.

I'd call the Brittish navy the best one in WW2, Japanese would be 2nd.

Also China was already holding on a stalemate before Pearl Harbor, simply because the US was already helping them with supplies and armaments plus the US embargo on Japan pretty much made them focus on somewhere else other than China.

I don't know about the Navies, if japan's a second, it's a REALLY close second.

They lost against the US navy mostly because of attrition and a horrible defence against submarine.

Or the fact that they didn't have oil suplies for their warships and carriers, but mainly because they couldn't produce as much ships as the US, I have a good book that has the statistics, I'll post it later if you want.

We fought on their "turf" most of the war, we won because of mass production and new technology being constantly developed.

True those are all valid points about the Japanese navy. And yea, I would be interested in that.

Quite. But then again, you were using wooden decks on your Carriers and the torpedo's of your submarines had a tendency of coming back at you...
So, those would need some sort of 'upgrade' sooner or later.

Poor Poland... 4 ships. I bet there like Old sail ships from the early 1900's. They used hussars to help slow the advance and give time for France and England to Prepare for the coming onslaught. to bad France didn't listen to the Poles.

A detail is that those US ships are only in the Atlantic, the book doesn't show the numbers on the Pacific.

But most of the American fleet is in the pacific... :?
