I dont see this problem when it comes individually. Soviets had stuff to combat armor, but circumstances they were fighting in did not give them a proper conditions to use them right. Not to speak of lack in material in very early months. 95% of Soviet European air force was wiped out in like two days, witch gave Germans total air superiority, thus helping German land forces. I dont see it. It was won because battle went into a stalemate and Russians got their Siberian reserves to counter attack. German army at time was bodged down, immobile and shadow of its formal self in all ways. Not even mentioning T-34's and KV's who were invincible to any German field gun. Red Air force started operating again, in temperatures in witch Luftwaffe cant even get engines started. There is no question about it, but it comes to German ability to take the city. Hitler did not plan to take it, but starve it to death, (note that he would not accept surrender) like Leningrad. Not only was German army in shit situation during the Battle of Moscow, but to make it worse they were tasked to surround the city and had objectives up to 200km behind Moscow, witch - in hindsight - was unrealistic to accomplish. I'd say that Lend Lease helped the production in the most critical time (1941 when there was none to speak of) and made huge difference in 1942-1943 relieving Soviet factories to focus on other stuff. In 1944 & 1945 it has done its job, Soviet production is back at full speed and its out producing everyone in war equipment.
The chinese got support from the US to fight against Japan, that's why they got to a stalemate on China.
I'm no expert in second sinno-japanese war, but what are you talking about? Last time I recall they run over chinese, took entirety of far east and got to Vietnam etc.
think theres more to it than that, the germans were low on supplies and the allies musterd the biggest merchant fleet of all time.
but did you know that when the soviets rolled through Russia over 200 thousand German soldiers were trapped and massacred in Stalingrad alone? and the allied soldiers did very little outside of Africa and Italy
pffft, D day. All the varius islands of japan, austrailians beat back the japs, in the north. But most importantly the merchant fleets. Lots of things factured into the germans defeat. 1. soviet men that died for theire country 2 thousands of merchant ships supplying europe 3 American factories pumping out weapons 4 etc
i know a lot about what the allies did, i also know that the main factor into Germany's defeat was the fact that they overlooked that Russia could AFFORD to lose vast amounts of land and troops because there was always more
But you fail to realize how important lend lease was in world war 2, and the importance of the western front. While Russia was putting a beatdown on the Germans in the latter stages of the war, they could have never beat them alone
We loosely mentioned them once or twice. Mainly when comparing army strengths and with them being somewhere above/below Italy. The Sino-Japanese war grinded into a stalemate because of overextending, attrition and multiple fronts.
yes but if you look at it Russia actually committed about as much evils as the allies and killed more Germans
You can no more win a war than you can win an earthquake. - Jeannette Rankin Over 750 000 Axis soldiers died during the Battle of Stalingrad I disagree. To quote from my sig: You will win, even if you retreat to Urals. - The Bulgarian ambassador, Ivan Stamenov shortly after Operation Barbarossa In Russia Germans took much bigger losses than in any previous campaign. Even when they were slicing trough Soviet armies. If I'm not totaly mistaken, Germans lost the same amount of men in a month than in all previous campaigns combined (Against France, Poland, UK etc.) May I also point out that Germans launched suprice attack on USSR, wiping out nearly all the material and armies they had in Europe. (They had armies in now Soviet- German border (who were taken out in first days) in Finnish border and around Moscow. They have started moving south few days earlier due to soviet generals pressure on Stalin to watch out for an invasion) What do you mean by "evil". And Russians killed 5.5 million German (Not axis) soldiers, while all western allies (only) 1.8 million. To western allies credit how ever, they took 100 000 more Axis prisoners if I'm not mistaken. This mostly is due to their fear of Soviet captivity.
Saying the Germans would win in any scenario after Barbarossa is just not true, the Soviets were just too much superior than they were 2 years before. The Soviets really got embarassed after the Finnish war, where just some few finnish soldier hold their ground against the monstruous sleeping bear.
yhea the finns were badass in that war. Apperently (if i remeber correctly) my great grandfather volentered to enter the war with around 800 other norwegians to help the finns out (whoho 800 men, well max manus counts as 50... ).
I agree. Soviets had T-34 and much more advanced equipment, but did not start to produce and issue them to army only but after Winter War. Would Hitler hold off longer he would have gotten totally exterminated by Russians. (This is also one of the reasons he did not finish western front) But in defense of Soviets we did have shit tons more advantages than them, and made all their advantages obsolite. Their leadership was poor as fuck tho.
