I have talked to a few guys in the local Tech shop that I know well, I've spoken with them about things on my comp and Men of War: Assault Squad. I'll be taking in my comp tomorrow and they have a whole bunch of old, shit PC parts, compatible with Windows XP VAIO comps, and they'll be checking for one better than mine. So, with that, I must ask you guys some questions. What should I do before taking it in? Now, I have some games that have... No CD (you understand?), should I remove all of that stuff before handing them in? Are they responsible for reporting any pirated software they find whilst checking my computer?
No, not at all. I would advise on installing some kind of discreet monitoring software, that's all. No one really cares about pirated software, and there is nothing they can do about it. They're not supposed to do anything unrelated to installing the GPU, and even if they do find anything else, they're supposed to ignore it unless it's a non piracy related crime. So yeah, keep that stash of child porn hidden away, but don't bother about anything else.
Oh, O.K. That is a completely fucking sarcastic comment for the purposes of humor, do not even dare bring up accusations of me retailing or obtaining such things.
We have a tech help forum for a reason, you know. If you want serious answers, don't post it in off topic.
Ok, I've just come back from the shop, and I have bad news. (for me) Their parts had two criteria for my computer, it had to be compatible, and it had to be better than the chip I have currently. Turns out, none of their crappy, back-room parts fit those two criteria, so, I will be getting a new PC. However, I will not be getting a new PC any time soon, I will get a new PC when my current one is trashed.
$800 dollars Canadian, almost brand new, moderate PC computer. I payed around that price for the one I have today 8 years ago.
