Lighthouse am not a very catholic person so I do not know very much about it.

Why was Jesus born in December, when everything dies, gets sick, and is extremely cold, and he died on Easter when most animals are born and the Earth is full of life?

Well he was born in a different area of the world then you, and conditions probably are different there than where you live. I cannot attest to that because I do not know the December climate of Israel. Matt can help out with that though.

Also, this depiction of December only applies to the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere December is the higher point of the summer.

Edit- And it is believed that Jesus died on the same date as his conception i.e.- the spring.

Well I learned that his birth and death was organized by God. This is what I was taught in Catholic school:

The Angel came to the Virgin Mary and told her that she was going to give birth to some sort of Savior and that God wanted him named Jesus since I means Savior in some foreign language and he was going to be born December 25th
35 B.C. God told jesus that he had to die on the cross the save the world on that date and blah blah blah, all that stuff.

All I'm saying is if all that was true you must admit if his Birthday and Death was Scheduled its kinda weird.

    lol

For the record, December here is nice. I can pull out a light jacket and cruise around town, with highs in the upper forties to mid fifties. It's pretty nice.

Also, wasn't it like a summer solstice when he was born so it wasn't cold at all.

Well, for one, the "story of Jesus" is about God, and the Messiah, interpreted by humans. I am officially a Roman Catholic but have little to no care for religious philosophy. Of course, we could later find out something completely different about his birth, or why it is respected in such a way.

Matthew, please calm down, there is no reason for you to go on rants on Judaism so harshly.

He wasn't born in december, that's just when it's celebrated, they chose december so it could coincide with germanic pagan holidays, to try and make it more appealing to them. Pretty much the same thing with easter, if I'm not mistaken.
The Romans didn't keep records on the births and deaths of poor jews. And probably not colored people either, but I'm not sure how racist classical western society was, if at all. More nationalist I guess, but it still applies.

There is no record of him being born on Christmas (I celebrate Christmas on Jan 7th so that's when I pretty much think he was born, however its unknown exactly) However Dec 25th has a big place with Pagans.

Well, Jesus wasn't born in December. 1. The calendar's been changed a few times, so... yeah. 2. It is December 25 because that was a sacred day in northern Europe, and the Church thought "Hey, if we're gonna give it a day, why not give it one that people already celebrate as a means of conversion.".

It is quite clear Jesus was not born in December. The Palestinian Farmers would not have been out with their livestock to see the "fireworks" because it was too cold. But December 25th was a major Pagan holiday and so we just did the convenient thing and relabeled it. It helped in converting Pagans, at the very least.
Coincidence I suppose. Or you could say it was a good thing he died, hence the term Good Friday and how Jesus was reborn and died for our sins.
