I don't think this will happen to Libya since the revolution is popular and they have set up a government of the Republic of Libya.

Russia have criticized the Coalition Operation in Libya "Indiscriminate use of force" "Apparently" Coalition air strikes have killed at least 40 to 50 civilians, and about 100 seriously injured.

Qaddafi has said "This war is going to be a long war"

I think Military action is probably the wrong choice, and this is going to be like the Next Iraq, but have to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.

My guess, the civilian casualties will be blown up in medias that dislike the intervention, and they'll be shrunken in medias that support the intervention. Besides, you all know the old quote,

"I would rather die on my feet,
than live on my knees."

Oh well, Gaddafi is just talking smack. With the blockade and the the coalition's air supperiority his government wont last long. Although Gaddafi supporters might go guerilla on the new government.

Even though I left, I would just like to share a few quick links with you.

1: At least it seems Russia is gaining some sense. After over 100 Civilian casualties on the first day of the invasion by America and France, Russia has seemed to realize that it was a mistake for them to abstain.

Gadhafi vowed to fight on. In a phone call to Libyan state television Sunday, he said he would not let up on Benghazi and said the government had opened up weapons depots to all Libyans, who were now armed with "automatic weapons, mortars and bombs." State television said Gadhafi's supporters were converging on airports as human shields.
"We promise you a long war," he said.
He called the international assault "simply a colonial crusader aggression that may ignite another large-scale crusader war."

Russia has no place saying they want to protect a smaller countries rights. They have yet to live down the USSR's countless interventions and invasion. Come on, think of how many countries they conquered between 1917 and 1945? Grant it many were taken from Nazi Control, but they did not liberate them, but put puppets in power.

Not to mention these civilian death counts are over-rated. How many civilians did Gadaffi gun down for peacefully protesting? I can assure you well more than a hundred.

Why are you saying American aggression? France is the one leading the assault.
And by the way, it's not just those three nations. All over the world people are helping overthrow Gadaffi. Even your home, Canada, is sending some warplanes over.

And by the way, why do you continue to believe that the man ordering the execution of countless civilians, figures that we have yet to hear or measure, and demanding that people simply allow him to slaughter his own is innocent and just? I hope to God you do not see yourself in him.

Either way, Gadaffi is boned. By Summer either his head will be on a stake or he'll be hiding in a cave.

They were bombing radar stations and AA guns. Those people were obviously near those things at the time.

So basicly there is a big choice in the mists of operation oddessy Dawn. Do we only assist the rebels in the overthrough of Quadaffi and do our best to prevent the killing of more innocent civilians by him and his now blown to shit air force and most of his military, or set military boots on lybian soil and take Lybia and then hand it over to the rebels ourselves. Well personally I say we stick with what is happening now. French and British fighter bombers eliminating from the skies while our American tomahawk missles blow the shit out of the lybian military bases and other targets.

I mean this will turn into an Iraq for all the U.N. to be involved in. We might win the war, but not the occupation. Like when the U.S., England, Spain, and Egypt invaded Iraq in 2003. I mean we may have ended that war, but I am sure we do not need a war like that one again. If America wants to go to war, we need to stick to Afghanistan.

It's hard to make things perfectly accurate when your bombing military bases right in the middle of a city. Besides things could be right next to eachother. For instance here in Tucson we have a Air-Base not a mile from a Air-Museum. A minor mistake could bomb the museum, rather than the airbase.

Not to mention, if the numbers aren't made up, they're probably counting Rebels as Civilians. So because the Rebels are so dis-organized, they could see an a bombing of a position and think it's time to assault it, not know that another bombing run is set to happen just a few minutes later.

Agreed. We should meerly assist the rebels so they do not look like puppits to the tribals and such. But the minute we try to run Libya the minute Libya will collapse. They will not have the West running them anymore than they'll have Gadaffi running them.

We will lose many American, British, and French lives if we invade Libya. It is better we just stick to the sidelines and use our aircraft to aid the rebels.

I really hope our governments are smart here. Starting a war when the global economy is down due to the Japan Tsunami is a very dumb move, and the possibility remains of other powers joining against NATO. Let's just cross our fingers that ground troops won't be needed, the last thing we need is 3 Middle Eastern wars.

No one is going to intervien on Libya's behalf. And even if they do, they're probably not strong enough to beat all of NATO.

Unless Libya somehow convinces Russia or China to threaten NATO with Nuclear Weopans, Gadaffi wont survive.
