The movie was on TNT last night, so I watched it (again) and still loved it. What are your thoughts.

It had a little too many chiches and the little asian kid was annoying. Other than that I enjoyed Clint Eastwood pointing guns at people again.

Great movie. The only problem I have with it is the horrible acting of the kid playing the Hmong boy.

Really great film. I also liked seeing Clint Eastwood playing a racist amongst a bunch of Asian kids, that image always puts a smile on my face.

I thought Clint Eastwood was going to have a epic showdown at the end.

Not nearly as good as all the other westerns he has done, Unforgiven being one of them...

The scene that made me look away was the one where clint locks the asian kid in the basement. Kind of ruined the moment with his bad acting. But one of my favorite movies never the less.

Yeah, that scene definitely sticks out in my mind as being exceptionally bad. I wish they would have hired a better actor, but Eastwood wanted a genuine Hmong boy to play the part, which obviously resulted in Eastwood’s options becoming severely limited. It’s a shame he didn’t just broaden his options by accepting actors of any East Asian descent.

Hmong people have a rather distinct look. Getting a generic Han to fill in the role would have looked rather silly. But I agree that the kid sucked some major balls.

Meh, it's a movie, no one would care and very few people would have noticed. It clearly would have been preferable to have a good actor even if he didn't look exactly like a Hmong, I don't think anyone can dispute that.

Well the whole point of the movie was to showcase the extreme criminal pressure that faces the US Hmong population.

I don't see why that means they have to cast every Hmong character with an actual Hmong actor. I think it would have been preferable to have a better actor. You don't agree?

I feel like it would have been a slap in the face to the Hmong to have a movie centered around them without any actual Hmong actors.

    Perhaps you're right.
