True. But I would like to see what would have happened if Constantine never converted. Or never won the Battle of Milvian Bridge.

Read up on the Fall of Rome. It was a pretty big factor. All my sources are a few books that I read. The Fall of Rome. The Fall of The Roman Empire. And another one I cant remember the name too. Christianity contributed GREATLY to the fall of Rome.

I don't think so. Those are probably biased sources. I want more sources then a few books.

The fall and the decline of the roman empire is one of the best reads ever.

So it's a biased source because it disagrees with you? Seriously, why is this becoming a trend in arguments?

Anyway, one of the big reasons the Roman Empire fell was because of their lack of manpower. Slaughtering everyone who doesn't believe the same thing as you in a massive Empire, while you follow a relatively new religion is a bad idea, no matter how you look at it. While it might not have been Christianity itself, as soon as the Roman Empire became less tolerant (or any hyperpower, for that matter), they greatly weakened.

Wasn't the Roman Empire Christian already before the fall?

Yes, but going Christian and becoming it, created a large amount of political infighting and unrest, causing it to be one of the main reasons the empire fell apart.

But didn't it save them a lot of trouble too?

In the book "More What If", my mind one of the most interesting what if is: "What if Pontius Pilate spared Jesus' life?"

He would have been killed later by more Jews. I'd estimate about a week. His death would be a lot less dramatic.

Humor aside, the rabbinate really did not want Jesus around. You can do the math.

But why? Jesus (according to the Bible) didn't call for an armed freedom struggle.

Rome was fucked long before Constantine. And pagan religions were tolerated right alongside Christianity, the difference is that Christianity was actively promoted.

For the same reason they didn't like any sort of reform - it would weaken their power base. Jesus wanted to reform the Rabbinical structure and Orthodoxy, and that would have lead to Judaism's most powerful people getting a lot less powerful.

Yeah, fuck the people who studied on the case, and spent months on checking sources and writing a book! GeneralofCarthage disagrees with them, so why not hang them immediately?

Why would I want to hang them? I just said it is probably a biased source. No textbook I have ever read for school said Christianity caused Rome to fall. I mean really this is pure bullshit.

Also, you still haven't commented on my argument. They have studied on the subject. Use sources if you are going to deny generally accepted facts.
