Is this a private or government organization?

Private, do you really think the Dutch government has the money to do this and run their own country?
Uh, did you ever stop to consider the implications of a private colony in space. I'd be kind of frightened, it would be a place where anyone could go to get away from the police on Earth. I really hope that if the colony is ever actually established then it is put under the control or at least regulation of NASA or, since this is a dutch company, then the EU or Dutch equivalent of NASA.

I do not think a drug dealer who is on the run will have the money to get to Mars.

How about a former dictator wanted for crimes against humanity?

Well, at this stage I think it would be obvious where he went, not many people move to mars. :)

Yeah, but how would we get him if its a private enterprise that owns the area he is in, free of any international government.

Good point, if they can get there to start with.
In the event that they do get there, I suppose we better arm our settlers with space lazers.

They take you through rigorous tests that are broadcasted live on television...

Also, only a total of 40 people will go. Once it reaches 40 people they done sending em.

They probably won't go through with it anyways.

I think they need to have a reality show to determine who gets to go. That would help publicity. :)

I doubt a company will actually go through with it. Where the hell are they getting the money to do this?

Where all money comes from. Underground secret drug cartels, obviously.

I feel like they'd end up with serious issues. Like not just food and water, but I think they'd all start regretting it pretty quickly. And after like 20 years of being trapped on a planet that they can never leave I feel like they might start committing suicide and shit. Not to mention the mental issues one might get after spending the rest of their lives on Mars with no hope of ever coming home.

Not like they'll go through with it anyway.

There isn't a whole lot of "industry" going on here. They aren't going to Mars with the intent purpose of engaging in economic development.

OH THE HUMANITY, WE DON'T NEED TO KILL HIM.

This whole thread is based on a one way trip. I think it would be WONDERFUL if every terrible murder/tyrant blasted themselves into space with no hope of return.

I've currently been trapped on this planet for 23 years, no hope of leaving. Haven't committed suicide yet, I'll keep you guys up to date on that.
I don't know what terrorforming is but it sounds quite fascinating indeed.

Wait. Are they going to, like, have children and stuff?

Seems a bit pointless 40 people going to die on Mars.
