Its really not, considering if you read the entire thing (I don't know if you did) Germany STILL ends up losing in the end due to superior American material. In fact, America ends up kicking Germany's ass. The way in which Germany "won" for so long was just because there was an unofficial ceasefire between America and Germany, and the Soviet Union was done for. Has anyone ever read the novel Fatherland?

I did read the whole thing and found it very interesting but in no way a probable scenario because the Soviet Union would have not fallen and Hitler's incompetence would have doomed the Reich much much earlier. Its a good read but not realistic, although they way it tells the story and reasons are probable (such as Stalin's incompetence becoming even greater than Hitler's) but its overall a action fiction novel. Red Storm Rising and various Tom Clancy stories are more realistic than that one.

No, in the story Hitler is much more competent, which makes Stalin worse than him. For two years, the Soviets were on the verge of defeat. If you will notice, the Soviets never fully give up but they seize to be a threat and turn into simply a guerilla resistance in the Urals that does more infighting than fighting the Germans. Also, Hitler had highly reorganized his own command structure, and made himself more efficient. But eventually allied technology caught up to him and they restarted the war. In any case, while its just one of an infinite amount of scenarios that could have played out, its still a very good read and its certainly more realistic than you seem to think. I also want to point out the interesting casualty list at the very end of the story, which is very scary, but also very realistic:

How do you make this poll and not include the allies declaring war on Hitler when he invades Czechloslovakia? I mean only the most awesome world war 2 alternate history series was made based off of that very thing not happening, but it is kinda a biggy.

The biggest military mistake to this day in reality is still the Allied decision not to invade Germany during 1939-1940. The war would have been won very quickly and Hitler ousted, if not trialed for the war crimes.

Not the biggest military mistake ever, but possibly the worst mistake of the period.

@slydessertfox, if you are referring to the war that came early series, there are so many WW2 alternate histories that are much better. Its good, but not the best. Settling accounts series (also by Harry Turtledove) is an interesting alternate take on WW2, though you should probably read the 7 books that came before that series.

No, in all honesty Kaissereich takes an exact set of circumstances to happen, if any major events change then it never happens :p

But if Germany wins WW1 a couple days later than it does in the mod, the same events still happen and only a few peoples lives are changed. So to change actual history, it has to be a major event happening.
