    The idea is simple enough.

A member, or group of members would once a week, take a look at the forum, find any new topics that grew popular quickly, as well as any significant events or interesting content posted by users and create a topic describing and showcasing these things.

The topic would then be posted on the main page of the site on the same day, every week.

    How does that sound?

We could make it apart of the newsletter.

If I'm not mistaken, the newsletter is published bi-monthly, the idea behind this review is that it touches on the finer happenings of the forum that take place every week.

Bi-monthly at best... It takes a surprising amount of time, especially considering it's not like Fey and I talk on a regular basis

The plan for this would be something a single person could pull off in twenty minutes (although a bit more time invested would probably be better), it's not meant to be something fancy and overtly official.

Right, I get that, and I think it's a good idea. Just saying it's not really feasible to try and use the Newsletter as a platform

While it's similar, the goal wasn't to be the newsletter in a second form, but rather, it's own operation.

Understood... Rom suggested it could be a part of the Newsletter, it's pretty clear that this isn't the best option.

One of the beautiful parts of the new User interface we have is the promote thread feature, where basically any mod can click one button and turn a thread into a front page sticky. Really Anyone can do the thread and just PM or tag a mod and we can promote it

If enough people showed interest, each week people could submit their own entry and each week the best would receive a spot on the front page.

Wait I have an issue wiht this, the promote toll actually moves the thread out of it's section though. How about a thread in the PA or another section.

Perhaps the entries could be submitted to a person who can post in The Blog section, then they just post the thread, or select someone(s) specifically, then make it their duty to create the weekly review and give them the power to post it in The Blog section.

So, you want someone to tell you how consistently terrible and stupid everything on these forums is? I can do that with a fraction of the effort it would take to do a newsletter or anything.

If a mod or tribune takes the initiative to make it their responsibility, more power to them.

It sounds like a pretty good idea to me, I'll volunteer to do it if we can sort out where it goes.
Why do you think so? It would be nice if you would suppourt your attacks on other people's ideas.

Well a forum memebr could just make the post and we just promote it there is no need to give powers to anyone and then any mod/tribune can do it.

Sounds pretty. We might just be able to combine it with the YouTube channel we are going to start.

While I think this is technically a necropost, I don't think it's necessary to create a new thread on this.

The proposal stands the same, and seemed to have general support.
I think we only didn't do anything with it because we were all busy with bigger projects at the time.

So what do you guys say?
    Should we go for this?

I think it would enlighten and encourage some members to post on the forums and contribute amongst our community.

    I'm for it.
