I agree with the mic thing. I won't watch an LP of someone with a crappy mic unless I have no other choice. I'd say don't use any headset mics. Get a dedicated mic or a decent webcam. I personally use my webcam to record my audio, it is a Logitech C310.

However, I think your estimates are a bit off. Could you provide the source of where you got those numbers? Regardless, we don't have enough views per day to even consider that prospect yet...doing so would just be wishful thinking.

Yeah I mean if video quality is off a bit it's not going to turn off that many people, but if audio is shit in any video (and we are talking about LP, commentary is hearth and soul of LPs) people are not going to watch more than 10 seconds of the first episode. Obviously you don't need a "professional" mic, but at least one that records your voice properly.

Get a good quality so people would come back to you and finish watching LP and maybe even subscribing to you, after that you can pump out videos and even if you have low following the very nature of LPs will rack up views for you.

    My source is
George Strompolos himself, mastermind behind YouTube partnership program.

Eh, I think it is that hard....
    Stalin's biggest video: 325k
The biggest Cod commentator (Seannaners) has 2 in the past year and his latest 3 vids had between 114k-229k
Husky's last few videos: Between 14k-70k views
Most of the site's current videos: between 3 and 16...

It would be a hell of a jump.

I'm not saying they're going to make millions, but with proper planing (aka. good quality content) few hundred dollars with in say half a year is very, very realistic goal. Once you have established your core followers your views will start to boom.

you won't get partnership. the youtube partnership program requires a good amount of original footage which you don't have.

neither TGS or machinima would take you on since you will not offer any monetary value for a long time.

I'm actually right. Machinima might take you on. But TGS is way beyond you. TGS is where the pros go I.E. The Yogscast, TotalBiscuit, OMFGcata, HuskyStarcraft and MuzzaFuzza. Machinma is for lame losers with crappy mics and cod footage.

I know more than you do. Just because you won't admit it doesn't make me wrong. You just have theory, i have solid facts straight from YouTube partners.

Since you really believe that you're right, I'll just correct you. To get monetization, you don't have to be connected to TGS or Machinama. It's monetization. I've looked it up. D3ad has looked it up. Others have looked it up.

We're talking about partnership. monetisation is harder than d3ad obviously thinks. the only way you get money is by putting in ads. YouTube doesn't let you put them in as much as partners do and also Google ends up taking most of what you CAN get.

I disagree i was able to put out 6 quality videos with a headset mic, I think headset mics are better then dedicated mics.

Well dedicated "professional" mics are better, but it's not like you wont get a good quality from headset mics.

I think it depends on the voice, some people have natural commentary voices others have to work on it, honestly even a low quality Mic can be made great by an exceptional commentator.
