Nope. Was made into an awesome and epic TV series that premiered April last year. I've heard from a friend that it was hard to get into, but the general consensus was that it was awesome. Probably the best TV show all year in my opinion. The next season screens in April.

Well, I've started watching A Game of Thrones, and it's pretty awesome. I also read the Dutch actress Carice van Houten will star in the next season or something, which doesn't surprise me at all, seeing as she doesn't seem to want to appear on tv without taking off her clothes, which would fit in perfectly.

EDIT: Oh wow, apparently it first aired on my birthday...well isn't that interesting.

My favourite TV series is Game of Thrones (the first season is just ending here in Finland).
    I'm also reading the book.

The epic moments in the series are giving me Idon'tevenknowwhat-gasms!

How does the show measure up to the books?
And no, I haven't read them yet, so don't spoil too much.

Hard to say 'cause I've fallen behind the show with the book, so all the suprises come while watching the show.
But there are, naturally, many thing in the books that aren't in the show, such as dreams and thought of charecters.

Btw I bought the books in this box that has the first four books, it was only 26e :D (also the books I bought are in English).

Put it this way. George R.R. Martin wrote the books in response to film producers who always had to remind him that his scripts needed to be kept within budget. He intended to tell a story that couldn't be filmed. And they are, the books simply have too much content to possibly fit into a show. But the show somehow achieves the impossible - it distills the books, then perfectly rebuilds them in a suitable form. Plot elements are told in more efficient ways, dialogue is added and left out where appropriate.

If you haven't already read the books, I'd suggest reading them after each respective season of the TV series.

Indeed, of course being a TV show is better than a movie in this case for example Lord of the Rings -movies are about two hours long each but one season of Game of Thrones is ten hours, thus less parts are left out.

Also I'm abot halfway done the first book and I've watched season 1, but I think that they're going to air season 2 in autumn here in Finland so I have a whole summer time to catch.

Now I really want to read the A Game of Thrones books (They're called "A Song of Fire and Ice", aren't they?). I also can't wait for the second season. It airs April 1st, right?
