Bullshit. Atheists are just as dedicated if not more dedicated to being non-religious than religious people are dedicated to being religious. The "system" is the accepted norm, you probably like the idea of "fighting the system", you shitstupid edgy death note fan.

I know, I was saying that atheists really love the idea of being atheist. As in, they talk more about religion than actual religious people, which is really pathetic.

Some people care about if the entire world is okay with living with bullshit. Apathy is pathetic.

I do have an opinion, which is: I have no idea in the whole wide world. I just don't force it on anyone like you do.

He said "a lot of people". But the message has arrived, and I agree.

Yeah, I wouldn't call them "friends" :p When I said "fight the system" I meant they tried too look "shocking" to the society because as our main religion is Catholicism (that doesn't mean that people here who are Catholics are extremists), so somehow they are fighting the powah. For example, I have a friend (a real friend this time) who's job is "Burn churches" according to Facebook.

I even go to a Catholic school? What about that? Anyway, our school is only Catholic in name and origin. Our religion courses are taught from a Universal Sufist point of view.

    I don't know what you mean .

There are schools that are legitimately "catholic" schools who teach mandatory religious classes and you have to say the lords prayer in the morning but other then that they aren't known to be bad schools. That's what it is like where I'm from anyway.

In our country, Catholicism isn't that punctual (anymore). It used to be like that, but it started to fade away. Our school used to be like that too back in the days (like 40/50 years ago) but not anymore now. Like I said: It's only a Catholic school in name, 'cause there are hardly any strict Catholic schools left in the Netherlands.

I think that things like a nation, a school, or anything alike should be secular, no matter what the people in it believe.

Isn't Protestantism the main Christian branch in the Netherlands, though?

Err... I don't think it's that far apart. The region where I live is mostly Catholic, though, I think.

It's sounding awfully like people in the netherlands couldn't give two shits about religion though so that's good LOL

That's not the case. The fact is just that Dutch people can be religious, but we just feel that official places, like schools and such, should be secular. That's all. Of course, there are less religious people here, but that's not the only reason.

It's really more of a "live and let live" situation here. From time to time, some things concerning religion comes up, but in general most people let others believe others what they want, which is probably the ideal situation if you ask me. In politics, it's usually no big issue (with of course the exception of Islam, which the PVV makes a problem out of). As usual, it seems like people in the US are taking the extreme route.

Yeah. I mean when people like Rick Santorum say JFK's speech about secularism makes them "throw up", then you know something's wrong.

This is silly, damn Java thing don't let me use the reply button. To Lamp, nope, right now I'm going to public university, and have been all my life on private school. So does my friend. We have religious schools (private, of course), but the only religion they have is maybe some prayer from time to time; it's not that they don't teach evolution or stuff.
About the girls, let's say they are less holy that that the ones that went to private/public school, if you know what I mean :p
