    Wow.
You clearly just skimmed my post or didn't understand it at all.
    1) I didn't say that you were racist for questioning the Chinese government. I said that you have a view that refuses to acknowledge things and call non-Westerners inferior.
    2) I didn't say that CHINA had minor or isolated incidents. If you actually read the post, I was talking about the West when I said 'minor or isolated'. Specifically, I was talking about people in the West dismissing their own human rights violations as minor or isolated.
    3) No, they aren't content with their lives. A recent Pew Research survey in China [recent being a couple of years ago] placed contentment in China lower than even the US. You completely misconstrewed my point. My point was that they hold a different view of their work hours. They want higher pay, but it is easier to bargin for more hours than more pay. If they could maintain the hours that they get now and get more pay and benefits, they would. As a matter of fact, that is exactly what is happening now.
And remember that it is the West's unsatible appetite for goods that drives that labor market. The small tremor that hit China when the US had the beginning of their recent recession hurt the workers' abilities to bargin for better wages and benefits. But all-in-all, they prefer having a terrible wage to none at all.

Come back when you learn to read people's post before making a reply.

i am pro marijuana 100%. i see no reason to keep it illegal, all the points brought up by people are laughable at the most. why cant people just admit that they were wrong and that there is nothing wrong with smoking a joint every now and then?

You shouldn't be smoking anything, period. However, I have no right to tell you not to smoke marijuana, but nobody should smoke anything.

I don't say everyone's immediately addicted after the first joint. You might not get addicted, that's no proof.

I asked this to my biology teacher this morning, and he agreed on the fact that there are a lot of active substances which stimulate a psychological addiction, especially in Nederwiet (the Dutch breeds). Of course, it's only a psychological addiction, which many people can easily resist. But it is still an addiction, and a very tough one for most people too.

And don't tell me it can't happen, 'cause I've seen it myself. The boy I was talking about, is at a clinic right this moment, only going home once a month because otherwise the risk of a recidivism would be too high if he wouldn't.

Again, I am in favor of legalizing, but I don't agree on the claims that it is harmless to smoke weed.

Why not. It might increase the person's life quality(not necessary health, but happiness/pleasure/life experience) and that is certainly worth not being able to run as far for a week or two.
You can get psychologically addicted to practically anything!! We don't ban things because a few people don't understand the word moderation...
It's not harmless to eat a ton of food. The same is true for marijuana(it's not harmless to smoke a lot of weed)
The point is that most things are not good for you(or your wallet) if you do not moderate it.

Edit: I respect the input of members regardless of the level of politeness(well unless it's really bad)

Now, read my post carefully. I said the amount of active substances in marijuana is very high, meaning that you get a psychological addiction much quicker than with "practically anything". You can't just say: "Oh, well. You can get addicted to anything, so this is just as safe as watching TV or eating an apple." It's not true. You can't say: "This is addicting, this is not addicting." There is a grey area in the middle, because one thing can be addicting, but the other can still be more addicting. And smoking weed is certainly more addicting than, for example, buying things.

If you need to get high to be happy, you've got a problem. Same with drinking.

Meh, I guess you're right(I'm not entirely sure on this), but marijuana's impact on your health is pretty minimal, so an addiction would not be as harmful to you(healthwise) as tobacco addiction.

I don't need to get drunk/high to be happy, but I like the feeling in both cases, and it usually make things a lot more fun. I also never drink or smoke alone(just wanted to point that out) It's not me that have a problem, but you, if you think that people who smoke/drink only do it so they can be happy. . It will be/is beneficial and interesting for me to have those experiences. Just because you might not be doing it and/or think it's a problem doesn't make it one.

It's annoying, and why'd you even do it?

It is. It's more harmful, even. The THC is more harmful than nicotine, apart from the physical addiction you can get from nicotine. And there's also more tar and toxic substances in weed too. Plus, it's pretty damn expensive and takes lots of time.

Again, I don't say it will kill you, but it's more harmful than smoking and it must be regulated instead of entirely legalized.

And again, I would like you to provide some sources since I've not heard of this and the fact that you said marijuana contained nicotine was obviously wrong and you went back on it when I questioned you about it.

First of all, that's an ad hominem.
Second of all, I don't have a source, I've watched a documentary on Discovery Channel on this a week or two ago.

    Here's some Google'd stuff:

That link also has a bibliography.

I don't believe it is since I'm questioning the validity of your claim based on previous experiences. In this case I ask you to provide sources since I don't want to take your word on it.

So I'm quoting some of the "facts" that he/they is/are presenting:

While A may be related to B, it doesn't have to be because of B. In this case, some people with a tendency to mental illnesses might be more attracted to weed because it calms them down.(I'm not really qualified to say what or why, but that may be the case) For more on statistics and how to lie with them, see this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Causality
    this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_does_not_imply_causation
Or read this(very interesting compared to other books about statistics): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Lie_with_Statistics

I'm sorry to say, but it's been smoked at least 150 years in the west and for far longer in the east. That's a pretty long time if you ask me compared to some of the other drugs.

Here I'm quoting a response from Andrew Parfitt:

I could continue with the quotes, but I have to do my homework and get my daily dose of gaming, and think you know where this is going.

I'm sorry, but I didn't really read that thing carefully. In fact, I think I've made my point. Just because it's not as dangerous as I thought it is, doesn't mean it's harmless. That's all I'm trying to say. And you agree it's not harmless, right? So what are we talking about?

I have come to the logical conclusion that Fey doesn't know anything about marijuana. Unless Marijuana is a completely different substance in Europe, almost everything he has said about it so far is just false.

I don't see why else you would do something that harms you other than to make you happy or make you feel good. Either way, you have a problem if you smoke "just cuz you like the feeling".

    Color wars.
