Unlike the Tea Party, there are no OWS supporters in the government, or if there are, certainly not as much as the Tea Party. The OWS movement needs to find supporters in the government if it wants to accomplish anything.

You know I retyped this long essay I found in my local "Our Town" about why the occupy movement is just a bunch of kids whining, on the occupy superthread. If you want to see it, I suggest you go back to that.

Well I knew that I wasn't referring to what they were as much as how they grew. Tea Party starts, Tea Party grows, Tea Party fizzles out as the list of accomplishments gets low. I believe the Occupy Movement will end up similar at the rate things are transpiring.

Except the Occupy Movement doesn't make you feel like you are watching a bad comedy show.

Neither does the Tea Party. They are positive movements with reasonable goals for what they preach. Contrary to popular belief the Tea Party isn't full of old racist white men. Also contrary to popular belief OWS isn't full of dirty teenagers with nothing better to do.

I haven't heard NPR do anything about the occupy movement in a while either. I just don't think it's that relevent anymore.

OWS wants to end corruption in Wall Street and the Tea Party wants to get America out of there economic depression. Those sound like good reasonable goals to me.

You forgot that the way the tea party would try to accomplish that would put America into a depression.

No not all of them. A majority of politicians registered with the Tea Party have "solutions" that we can neither prove or not prove because they haven't been tried. If we just assume their solutions are bad then we are dooming are selves. We need to be optimistic and keep an open mind about everyone's ideas including the Tea Party's ideas and OWS's ideas.

The ocuppy movement does not have ideas, they never have offered any plan or solution to fix any problems. The entire ordeal boiled down to a bunch of people camping in public spaces yelling about how corrupt everything is, thats not a movement for change, thats called whining.

Okay not so much OWS as the Tea Party, but in that regard we should simply ignore them. We need to respect both sides and what they want/believe. Honestly none of us know what would happen if what they want happens/what they preach happens. Therefor we need to keep an open mind.

Almost every republican wants to remove Bernanke who is the exact reason why a recession did not turn into a depression. It scares me that some of them think he is guilty of treason.

Well I'll admit my ignorance here. I don't know much about the man so I''m not going to debate it. Still that is one issue. The Tea Party and Republican Party could have some good ideas. I personally believe they do. I also believe the Democratic Party has good ideas, mainly on social issues. No side is truly wrong here. There is no such thing as a wrong party, only a wrong politician.

What if almost every politician on that side of the party agrees with it?

the way i see it the tea party came with fucking guns! and they didnt get attacked. thusly the occupy movment should come with guns. worked for the tea party so it should work for us. because occupy is apparently the left versoin of the tea party.

Hmm, here is how I see it. A party of course has stances on various issues that is correct, but a party's views aren't set in stone. A politician must take the general idea of what there party believes and alter it to his liking. Kind of like the Bible. The Bible preaches various things and people take them for what they are. Some think it is preaching anti-homosexuality some thing it preaches love and peace. A party works a similar way. It gives outlines on the issues that can be interpreted by the politicians themselves. Politicians may agree on one issue but no politician is a clone of the other. We shouldn't reprehend a party for their stance on one issue. We need to be flexible. I mean all the GOP candidates agree together on abortion, yet they rarely get along.

Mhm, though I suspect most of them are against gun ownership, and that more of them would be inclined to use their guns.

yeah true. even so america is quickly becoming a authoritarian state. camera man for the ocuppy protests are being attacked by police. police are clearly attacking protesters with little to no reason. one man was arrested in a court house for wearing a jacket that said occupy on the back.
