Why did the US win the Revolution?

    Why did the Us win? the British empire relied on numbers as all huge empires in history did, while the US, knew they were outgunned and outmanned, used Guerrila(SP?) tactics, which proved to be successful for them, while back then Guerrila tactics were seen as dishonorable and barbaric, it was effective.

    What if the US lost? well obviously life for Americans today would be very different, we would also be part of the UK, of course this is all speculation.
