World In Conflict Soviet Assault

Well besides the fact you can actualy play as the USSR and fight 'CAPITALISTS', its not actualy a bad game, both the american and soviet campaigns are good with good stories, sure the graphics are a bit outdated but i think its still a good game and good for a lets play, at least the Soviet Campaign

I've never played it is it like Red Alert.

Sort of but no at the same time xD. It is kinda hard to explain.

You command a group of units ranging from infantry to tanks to helicopters and heavy artillery batteries. In the campaign you are given order by head command, things like 'The captialist dogs are trying to take the centre of the city, repel them comrade!' or 'You need to survive the commie offensive soldier, thats an order!'. So you send your units around the battlefield to attack or defend or what have you. Fighting as either the Soviet Union or the USA. You can call in reinforcements and airstrikes like a smart bomb from a stealth fighter, an A10 warthog tank buster run, carpet bombing or even a tactial nuke and more.

Its a story driven game with objectives to complete that lead you to the next mission and advances the plot.

Its an alternate history of when the Soviet Union began to fall, what if they attacked the US rather then let it collapse.

It has a fairly active online community too which is just a 4 vs 4 (or smaller) where you control a type of unit, for instance air support, and your teams control other types of unit, and you battle against the opposing faction in different game modes such as a Domination style gameplay where you try and hold different bases on the map.

I'll look into buying this it sounds interesting and since it sounds like RA I think I'll enjoy it like I did RA.

its much better if you have the complete edition ( wic + soviet assult) which I have. It would be great! I would definetly wacth it
