We need to liquidate the rich inorder to stop the budget deficit in the short term without major austerity measures. While were at it, I support nationalizing and mass collectivization of the economy, because well, there's a opportunity to.[/quote:e5yatrfc]
this is an examplre of over reacting. there's about a 1 trillion dollar annual deficit and killing the rich isn't exactly going to help close that. I ussally dont argee with the right that measures agianst the rich is punishing succsess but it this case i'll make an exeption.

You have to realize if your going to collectivize it has to take years and everyone has to agree.

There was an interesting topic incidentally called 'is democracy harmful to an economy' that ties into the whole Congress doesn't do anything'. The very nature of the West being democracies is that inevitably the political process is slow and painful. I've always seen balancing the budget as a lost cause to begin with, we simply can't. The best we can do is not let the national debt get too high, to Greek like proportions which we should always do our best to avoid.

The rich and there corporations have well over 1 trillion dollars in total. liquidating there wealth WILL get us out of this crisis.

@JJ We live in a corporate oligarchy, not a democracy.

So punish the part of the economy creating growth (I'll just assume by liquidate you don't mean exterminate, even though they're kind of interchangeable there) and spend upwards of $15 trillion to nationalize the economy, even though the goal is to eliminate the debt....

The state will establish plans to further economic growth, it costs nothing to seize corporations, you just don't compensate the already rich ex-owners.

To those who are saying this will cause chaos, you can do this in a gradual manner you know. Also I don't see a small minority of the US population having a successful revolt.

You do realize that most of the country would be against it because if they are why hasn't it happened already. Also these corporations keep money in offshore accounts that the government can't touch so try seizing that.

I never said it would be popular, just that it would work. Then the people who head these company's who refuse to return the money to US based accounts should be arrested and trailed for treason. :)

We're too divided to do anything but sink the boat even faster. The Republicans aren't helping and the Democrates most likely won't do any better. I just going to be ultra-honest with my opinion here and say it,"We're Fucked"

    Mods, please don't smite me.

Which is why single party states work best for the economy. No arguement, only action. Germany was far worse off than America and in a few short years their ecinomy was one of the worlds best in a single party system
