The US debt is a looming threat that is threatening our economic future, but not one politician is ready to compromise. We don't want to end up like Greece do we? Can it be solved and how would you fix it?

I know exactly how.....ahem *puts on douche-y glasses* what we must do first is stop ALL out-sourcing to China and send all of the unemployed people to government subsidized housing in the Nevada desert and build the factories that we lost from stopping out-sourcing to China.

    1. Seize the Assets of the super rich.
    2. Dramatic raise on tax for the rich. As well as closing tax loopholes.
    3. Nationalize and liquidate all corporations and mid to large business.
    4. Gradually turn small business into workers cooperatives.
    5. With the nationalized company's, sell luxury products to bring in profits for the state.

So in order to balance the budget and pay off the debt we need to more then quadruple the size of our government and incur gigantic transition costs. Also this isn't a paradox game, we can't just "sell luxury goods and expect those returns to pay for the government".

45% of Americans pay no taxes at all, meanwhile the top 50% of income earners pay for 97% of all receipts. But yes, we need a more regressive system... Interestingly enough, the majority of high income earners are more then amenable to paying larger taxes, it's just the politicians who don't want to hurt their own coffers by playing with the tax code.

Not to mention that doing all of those things still doesn't offset our existing trade deficit, which is a bit of a problem for a 100% export-driven revenue system.

I always saw US debt as a lost cause. May God have mercy on our collective soul.

We need to liquidate the rich inorder to stop the budget deficit in the short term without major austerity measures. While were at it, I support nationalizing and mass collectivization of the economy, because well, there's a opportunity to.
