While we're in the mood for some nice arguments, I would like to throw another factor into the ring and say that it's ridiculous for mods to be acting out against public discussion because "no longer is public debate allowed". However I will not say that the statement they make itself is wrong.

In fact, they're right we no longer are allowed to debate things and thus create a general consensus and by extension action like we did for things like signature size and the Kali referendum. That concept has been abolished. Though the idea of discussing something is a completely different matter. Debate may decide whether or not an action should be taken but discussion is nothing like that. Discussion is merely the sharing and spreading of ideas and the statement of opinions.

However to spite this many discussion threads face constant locking and otherwise for they have been lumped away with debate threads because the administration never actually thought that people might want to discuss the massive reforms.

As much as I would like it to be, this is not a debate thread. It's a discussion thread about whether or not the administration is actually doing just that or whatever else you want that's on-topic. So then, discuss!

No one is in the mood to argue, except you apparently.

That statement is a lie of omission.
It should read, "No longer is public debate allowed - on site policy"
And it's something you keep trying to do.

The general consensus is irrelevant on site policy.

Your discussions often lead to insults, conjecture and he-said-she-said.
At which point, it's no longer a discussion, it thread full of rule violations, therefore, it gets locked.

The entire point of the "massive reforms" was that you would not be discussing them, or any other site policies.

At this point, everyone realizes that you just like to hear your keyboard clack.

It wasn't a literal statement, but you know...

That statement is a lie of slander.

Ideally you'd be able to infer that because it's on the People's Assembly.

Actually I'm trying to discuss, not debate. That's what this whole thread is about.

    That's what I said.

That's entirely false, the Locking threads prove that.

Perhaps a thread based on insults would be locked, however that seems to have happened never. In fact, you yourself (basically) said that you did it because it was "debating forum policy". Therefore your statement is useless and false.

No the entire point of the mass reforms, as Stalin said in the IngSoc Act, was to bring about unity in the forum and stop pointless and irrational arguments. Discussing forum policy changes does not "destroy forum unity".

It's ironic that you would accuse my threads of sparking insult and then hint at it yourself.

A lie of omission is a real thing, and I really accused you of it.
    I'm not playing a game.

This section of the forum no longer serves such a purpose.

Than you admit the irrelevance of your opposition.

Our actions are proactive. We're preventing trouble.

The thread was technically spam, since forum policy is not up for debate, so I closed it.

Discussing opinions on policy and politics does inherently destroy unity.

I'm implying that you're just arguing for the sake of arguing.
Your first sentence in the OP implies such.

This really is just a forum on the internet, nothing valuable in the slightest. It could straight up disappear tomorrow and I wouldn't lose any sleep.

Exactly. And he loves us too! Hence he's made changes to stop us bickering all over the People's Assembly. And what do we do? Oh yeah, keep going.

Thing is, not that much has changed really. And sometimes we have to take things we don't like (we shall not deny that, but it's all the fault of the so-called 'rebels' on our island).
I mean, I can live with there being a few less polls in the People's Assembly, or more specifically, I shall keep posting my usual dumbass comments on the forum of my favourite internet-based videogame footage uploader safe in the knowledge that tribunes or not, Stalin and the moderators would never ignore us completely.

That's actually the new site policy. Everyone has to shut the fuck up regarding anything associated with the inner workings of the site.
This entire section is a waste of space.

Don't ever visit anywhere called the 'People's Democratic Republic of...'
It is still the people's assembly, it's only site policy-related threads that are getting locked. What we need is a new issue to try out; i'm fairly sure that whatever that will be won't get locked, but it will be taken into account even if it turns out that Stalin's profile is manned by a meglomaniac power-hungry doppelganger.
Yeah, I guess you could call it a failed experiment or something (see, democracy doesn't work), but as you said earlier, it doesn't really matter.
