If anyone's subscribed to the Paradox Forums newsletter: congratulations! You, like me, now own the SotS base game. I immediately got the expansions as well, as they were 75% off. Anyway, I installed it, jumped in and...well...I tried the tutorial, but a few videos which I can either watch completely or skip that don't involve me doing anything won't help me too much, I'm afraid. So, what I'm asking is: what's a good way to start off the game for a beginner? What are good techs to start with, what did I have to do to colonise systems, what are good designs for ships etc. Lastly, what are the biggest differences between the races? I do know I won't be looking at the hiver for now, they'll come later, I'd like to understand the bare basics for now.
I got the game too, but i'm having difficulties choosing the right race for me. Might try Hivers coz Stalin did them and it seemed to be quite easy.
What news letter? where can I find it? even if i dont get free stuff it would be nice to stay on the loop
